I'm still a little stunned by this result and it probably won't sink in until I see the front page of tomorrow morning's Courier Journal.

 

Every player you've heard of on the Louisville defense made big plays tonight and Bridgewater was magnificent in directing the offense. It was said that Louisville would have to play a perfect game to win this and they quite nearly did. With the exception of the two red zone flops (very rare for Louisville this year), Louisville managed to do just about everything they wanted in the game plan.

 

No arguing that the interception return totally changed the tenor of that game. Louisville scored on that play and on their first drive, forcing Florida to move out of their comfort zone and into a passing attack. Still surprised they didn't manage to establish a successful ground game more in that first half.

To much hype for Florida in this game a 14 point favorite and all the sports guys were pro Florida and gave Louisville very little love as you could tell in the broadcasting of the game. CONGRATS to all the Card fans and well deserved enjoy this one for a long time JD

How many players had to leave the game due to injury..........5,6,7 ? It was a lot. I thought UF looked a little foolish with all their posturing and bravado, when you consider they were so outplayed and outcoached. Save that stuff when you are dominating, not being dominated.

Agree. Florida thought they were going to punk the Cards, but instead often just looked like punks.

Congrats Card fans. An absolute clinic by UL. Great game prep and Teddy Bridgewater was fantastic and has to be top three or four for the Heisman next year.

Another plus in winning this game is that they now will likely be top 5 in preseason rankings and have a great shot at going undefeated next year.

Their toughest game with Boise being out of the Big East will be at UK and UC.

If Bridgewater stays healthy, they have a very legitimate shot at going unbeaten. Bridgewater is so calm and collected in the pocket and reads the defense very well, just an extremely intelligent QB.:thumb:

With Strong staying put and this big bowl win you have to think Louisville recruiting opportunities just took a big step up. Hopefully people around the country tuned in to see their performance.

I could see Florida paying Charlie a number that is close to 5 someday.

Congrats to the Cards. I got home from work in time to see the third quarter. Then had to go to bed.

 

Now I just want to see that arrogant weekend sports anchor, Chris Fischer, on channel 10 here. His broadcast last Sunday was ripe with contempt for the Gators placing themselves in the hideous position of having to play lowly UofL. I know he's in a Florida market, but the guy went overboard. I looked at Mrs. S and said, "If the team feels like he does, Louisville may win this thing."

Congrats to the Cards. Huge win. Will this win help UofL get an invite to another conference?

Florida looked like they were not prepared. Louisville looked just the opposite.

Congratulations to the Cards. That was a masterful performance and they were really fun to watch. Bridgewater has to be a strong Heisman candidate next season. Enjoy this one Cards fans, I know I would if I were you.

Sugar Bowl rep told Jurich that if not for UL the bowl would have been in big trouble.

Couldn't be more proud of the Cardinals. Glad they got to nationally expose the Gators and Coach Muschamp. UF has more "talent" across the board, but they were outclassed in every aspect of the game. Dominated. UF essentially out-Floridad Florida. Two TD scoring drives of 0 and 24 yards. And another that started on the 1 yard line.
