January 3, 201313 yr Also, the All State commercials freak me out. The black dude in it has always creeped me out and when they do his voice with other people I cringe every time. I thoroughly enjoy the mayhem commercials.
January 3, 201313 yr Sure is. President Palmer from 24 and Cerrano are one in the same... Ship him back to the minors.
January 3, 201313 yr This video shows how good of a dude Charlie is in the eyes of players he has relationships with.
January 3, 201313 yr Shocking that Jurich would say this. This isn't the first time that I've heard things get out from the hospitality rooms at bowl games this year, rooms which which were -- I'm led to believe -- pretty sacrosanct in the past. Did Jurich come out with this or was it overheard? Of course, no one is a more shameless promoter of UofL athletics than Tom Jurich. It's part of what makes him so effective as AD.
January 3, 201313 yr For attendance? Yes. It was the lowest attended BCS bowl in BCS bowl history and the smallest Sugar Bowl since 1939. UL fans rolling out in large numbers kept it afloat.
January 3, 201313 yr They are already looking to leave the ACC??? My bad. For some reason I was thinking UC got the invite to the ACC, and not UofL. :taz:
January 3, 201313 yr Sugar Bowl rep told Jurich that if not for UL the bowl would have been in big trouble. Not surprised to hear that at all. But bowl attendance was down seemingly across the board. The crowd at that Gator Bowl was stunningly awful -- maybe having seemingly every single game on New Year's Day be SEC vs. B1G isn't the best idea in the world. But even though Louisville fans vastly outnumbered Florida fans, even Louisville didn't sell it's entire allotment I don't think. Lowest-attended Sugar Bowl since 1939 I believe is what I heard. Though TV ratings were up two percent from last year's matchup of No. 11 Virginia Tech and No. 13 Michigan.
January 3, 201313 yr Sure is. President Palmer from 24 and Cerrano are one in the same... You forgot Jonas Blane from "The Unit". Ship him back to the minors. Jobu would not like that. Must offer cigars and rum.
January 3, 201313 yr Side note: of the Big East's four co-champions, Louisville, Cincinnati and Syracuse all won their bowl games by 10 or more points. The only flop was Rutgers, who failed to score more than 10 points total. Typical. They'll fit in perfectly with the Big Ten.

January 3, 201313 yr I'll have more to say when I'm sure I'm going to live, but I'll start with this: It was Florida that resorted to a trick play to score. It was Florida that tried a surprise onside kick. It was Florida that wasn't composed and from the very begining was shocked by the punch in the mouth that we delivered. Their fans were friendly--if arrogant-- before the game; during the game they were relatively quiet and outnumbered; afterwards, well, they didn't take it very well. This was the biggest upset in BCS history, both by spread and by the rankings of the teams involved, but in every way it was Louisville that looked like the big-time team and Florida that looked like an underdog trying to follow the Boise State script.
January 3, 201313 yr Four co-champions  It is seriously the strangest football conference you can imagine. Three teams tied at the top last year.
January 3, 201313 yr Four co-champions  If there were no championship game, you'd see that occasionally in the SEC. Florida, Georgia and Alabama all finished with one conference loss this year, so why bust out the laughter?
