No, but when you read names like Jon Gruden, Bill Parcells, etc. as we have before, I just want people to be a little more realistic about what the UK program is and the type of coach it, or college football in general, attracts. Guys are not going to be beating down the door to coach at Kentucky in its present state. Now that could all change with the right hire and different level of commitment from the administration, but that is for a future hire, not this one.

I want to add that with guys like Gruden and Parcells, it has less to with it being Kentucky and more to do with the fact that these guys aren't going to any college. NFL coaches with super bowl rings don't all of sudden take jobs in the minor leagues.

Exactly, and what I was getting at when I said "or college football in general".

I just hope that when we narrow it down, whomever it is, has a really terrific "door".

I would prefer a Sonny Dykes or a Mark Husdspeth. Let me throw this one out there. Kerry Coombs? Very detail oriented, learned under Brian Kelly, Butch Jones and now Urban Meyer. Would likely run a spread type offense and has been on defensive side of the ball for his college career. Would certainly be able to sell the program through his enthusiasm.

Certainly an out of the box type of suggestion, but he laid foundation at Colerain. Malzhan didnt spend too much time as assistant in college. Just saying...

Zero experience as a college DC and his secondary units have not been very good at all outside of his first year at UC when he inherited at least 3 guys that spent time in the NFL. Would be a huge gamble...

Nice article, has me interested as to whether Kingsbury is interested.

I would wager a large sum of money (if I had any money) that Sonny Dykes will not be at UK next year. I'm not saying he'll be at LaTech next year, but I just don't seem him at UK.
