November 11, 201213 yr Washington State athletic director Bill Moss countered with a later statement on the situation: “It is unfortunate that Marquess has chosen not to go through the weekend and have the subsequent visit with me as we had discussed last Tuesday. I was hopeful to provide additional guidance if he was willing to meet the standards that have been set by Mike Leach and his staff in their effort to establish a competitive football program at Washington State. Unfortunately, during times of coaching transitions, departures are not uncommon. We have procedures in place that were developed to monitor student-athlete welfare in all of our sports programs. We will continue to follow those procedures and modify them if needed. I believe I join many Cougars in wishing Marquess well in his future endeavors. WSU athletics plans no future statement at this time.”

During an Oct. 27 loss to Stanford, Wilson found himself benched. In the following week, media reported that Wilson was coasting through practices, dropping easy passes and then giving half effort when sentenced to 20 up-downs a punishment. Against Utah the following week, Wilson lost his starting spot for the first time in three years. The next day he walked out of practice.

November 11, 201213 yr UTenn supposedly has fired Dooley. I listen to "TheDrive" sports talk out of Knoxville most evenings on the way home and they have been ready to fire him since about 5 minutes after the UK game last year. He would have had to have beaten Bama, Florida or Georgia to have had a shot at saving his job.
November 12, 201213 yr I am just going to say this: IF UK gets Petrino, I had BETTER not hear one more nasty comment from UK fans about the character of Pitino, the "sell out" of Jurich on morals for success, or that as a parent they want coaches with high morals. All that said, I agree with your logic. I completely agree. I'm one of those who doesn't want anything to do with Petrino. If UK hires him I will get behind him but I agree with you 100%.
