One guy I would love for them to consider (although there's virtually no chance he'd be interested) is Josh McDaniels. I think he's a perfect fit for a college HC gig. :idunno:

These are all reasons why I want him. He has to understand what is at stake for him at this point. If he proves to be the same old Bobby then that could possibly be it for him at least in the SEC. He's not a young fella so he has to wisen up and recognize the opportunity he has. Just because he can flat out coach doesn't mean he'll keep getting that opportunity to coach higher level football. I'm interested to see if anyone besides UK even looks at him. After Lane Kiffin I'd be shocked if UT went after him. We know Arkansas won't. Maybe Auburn will. Either way it goes he does have a reputation and if he is going to right the ship I prefer he do so at UK. I'd hate to see him finally get right and turn some other program around. Especially if the coach UK hires a coach that doesn't do as good as Petrino.

 

I smell what you're cookin' PP, I do. The only problem I have is will the obvious personal life problems regarding his family, spill over into the concentration he needs to make a football program successful. To be quite honest, I don't see this new UK President going along with the hire. My impression with Dr. Capilouto after speaking with him is he thinks UK spends too much time worrying about athletics.

Jacob had asked who was on the "A" list and Jones replied with "Sonny Dykes and Kirby Smart from what I can tell." Not sure how accurate Jones is with his stuff just seen it on their.

Not to mention his loyalty saw him leave Umass to the pro's, then Memphis, and then UK and who knows possibly leaving UK to the pro's one day. Basically taking jobs that he believed was best for him.

I wouldn't listen too much to Jones. Its already been discussed on here (I'll let you find the threads) but Matt has taken other people's info and made it his own. He might know a little more than us but I don't think anybody truly knows other than Barnhart and everything else is just speculation.

That's what I believe. The names that are being being discussed might not even been on Barnharts list

Jones will use other peoples info but also don't forget he is now on the UK network himself so he isn't going to give out any inside info that UK doesn't want out like he used to.

The only new rumor I heard today was Larry Glover saying he heard Fulmer was the choice already but he said he didn't believe it.

Same thing I've heard but at this point it could very well be one of those rumors that is growing as it passes. I said yesterday that I hoped it wasn't true but after some thought it wouldn't be a terrible choice. I think one thing to keep in mind is that some of the other coaches mentined like Dykes, Smart, etc, might not be interested at all.
