Prayers For Coach Mike Burns Family and Friends

Featured Replies

Coach Mike Burns former football coach for Erlanger Lloyd passed away this evening, a great football coach, teacher, father, softball player and friend to the Erlanger Community. He will be deeply missed. He was a coach on the 1976 Lloyd Juggernauts State Championship Football Team. May God Bless the Burns family. JD

He will be missed. He was a great teacher, in everything he did. The world is a better place because of him.

Mike was a great guy. Played some softball with him. He will be truly missed. Thoughts and prayers will be with him and his family. Rest in peace and God bless.

He also won a couple titles with highlands in the late 90's.

I heard he was an outstanding coach while at Highlands. RIP Mike Burns.

One of the best coaches I ever played for, great understanding of the game, knew how to teach it to the kids, and was not afraid to hold you accountable. I am deeply saddened to hear this news.

JD, any word on the services?

I am a former student of his. Really enjoyed his classes. Thought he was a great guy. Are there any details?

Very sad news. One of the classiest men I ever met. Great competitor, automatic hit whenever he stepped up to the plate. Prayers to his family.

Love You Mike! Prayers from my family...

Yes Coach Burns finished his last five years at Highlands with Red Dog, only thing I know is he had a long fight with Parkinsons Decease. If I am not mistaken he also coached at CovCath in his early days. Yes he was a great hitter and could put the ball anywhere he wanted. JD

Mike was one of my coach's at Lloyd in the 80"s under Gary Dearwater. I also played softball against him. Great man, he will me missed. Prayers to the entire Burns family!

He did coach at CCH fot at least a couple years. Great person for sure. After High School I would run into him on the softball field. I remember thinking what is this old dude doing playing softball against 20 year old guys. Then once you saw him play you would understand. He could flat out play the game!
