Clyde's NKY Top 10 After Week 4

Featured Replies

Boone?????? If this was the top 10 most talented list, yes for sure. This program was shut out two weeks in a row with a murderers row of talented skill players. Moss, Diaw, Floyd, Boston and Marshall. If you can't score with that stable of talent, then your whole program needs re-evaluation. The Hauck offense is obsolete due to the athletic evolution of players on the defensive side of the ball. There needs to be an effort to develop quarterbacks staring at the middle school level. Sophmore year is too late to start developing quarterbacks.

Moss - Freshman - Marshall & Floyd are Sophomores - Boston and Diaw are Juniors; Young squad you're expecting a lot from

For one Scotty turner doesn't start and for two here is the real roster, he is listed at 270.

Highlands Bluebirds - Roster

Northern Kentucky Sports has an up to date roster check it out!

He did start this week and he is closer to 6'4" and is around 270lbs although he may be up around 280lb this morning after the dinner I saw him put away last night. :D

Diaw is an 18 tear old junior however.

I saw an offensive line that was out of shape. I saw a botched shot gun snap that by game 4 should not be happening. I saw a qb who was not prepared for varsity play. Coaching and player development are suffering. Head coach and AD appear content with the status quo.

Don't know about two of them. Richie Whitford is closest and is an absolute beast of a lineman. He will be(is IMO) one of the most dominate lineman in NKY this year and should see plenty of statewide "All Star" teams. But that really gets you no where now does it. I do think he has the ability and obvious the size to play next level possibly major D1. The other lineman you speak of must be Swietzer. He's probably closer to 265ish and is a Junior. Next year as a Senior, he will garner lots of attention from D1 schools as he is also a very good lineman.

Ritchie hasn't even hit that last growth spurt yet. He'll get up to 6'5" or more when it is all said and done.

I would move SK over Cooper, Campbell over Conner and would move up Beechwood over Boone and move NCC out and Scott in.

HHS

CovCath

SK

Cooper

Campbell

Conner

Ryle

Beechwood

Boone

Scott

Cooper would beat SK, it would be a good game but Cooper would win.

Either way turner doesn't start, tht is one starter near 290. Look at the defense, pretty small along with the rest of the offense.

SK would run right over them!

It sure is quiet in Hebron! They must have nothing but fair weather fans out that way! :D

I read correct Turner and Whitford are both over 290![/quote

Okay, and your point it? As long as they play well, it doesn't matter what they weigh.

First off i'm not selling any kool aide, and we probably know eachother...my son plays baseball for cooper also. I didn't say Moss couldnt be a great player, i said he isn't there yet. His hands aren't what i think people claim them to be, he can get there but his body is more of a lineman than a reciever right now but you are right he can get there he's got plenty of time.

The baseball field is really nice, you are right, except the outfiled needs some work. The football field is horrible but it is because they simply didn't have the money when the school was built to put much into the fields. The baseball field is basically maintained by parentsw and Coach Bieger, the school itself doesn't put much into the fields so whatever is done is usually by the parents and coaches themselves.

I still think if you doubt Moss' hands you've missed a lot of his play. They are as good as anyone's around and better than most. That might not show right now with the issues (freshman plaing varsity, not in the best shape, home, etc.) he's facing but it will over time.

I agree with your assessment about body type, at least to this degree,..............more like a tight end than a receiver. That body is evolving rapidly from what was a lineman's body but is certainly at the TE/DE stage now. He will never look like Randy but his uncle Eric was one fine HS TE at 6-5, 270#. Thad could get to that size but even at his current size will continue to develop and improve. He has really good feet as well as hands and may also develop at DE.

I suspect some people do tire of a freshman being mentioned ahead of players who have been around longer but that's not his fault. He just wants to play and be judged on what he does. Tough to be the child of a name athlete but I expect Thad to handle it as well as his sister did.

I'm sorry to hear Casey is out for the year. My son was Casey's team mate two years ago on two different teams. He carried Casey off the field when he was injured in Louisville.

My son has competed against Moss since the days of the chargers and knights, then the mustangs and broncos. He has all the tools to be great.

If I were a Boone parent, given the state of the program today and the issues two years ago around the selection of starting qb, I would be severely tempted to publicly call for change at Boone. But I am not a Boone parent, so it is not my place.

Boone has a very rich and proud tradition that rivals that of even Highlands. They get tremendous talent almost every year. They do not perceive a need to commit to a down field pass offense. They just do not engage with the youth program. In order to develop a QB, you have to start at about grade 6.

If the status quo persists much longer, kids and coaches will leave.

I think this is one of the silliest things I've read on here.

Each has earned the others respect. Among the big schools Ryle comes the closest to getting in the party.

So says you...... Why?

No Holmes in the Top 10. Didn't they pretty much manhandle Beechwood a couple of weeks ago?
