I think they're very good.

 

However, HC is not strong this year (at least this early) and Ryle "appears" to be down.

 

So, it's too early to judge.

 

I like their team though.

I don't know about their depth, but starter for starter they are built to give Highlands and CovCath

great game. Tough to say without them playing each other. If they are as good as the Highlands team I saw last night, then they are the favorite for 5a, bc Highlands was dominant.

Cooper is good and may be the best team in 5A or 6A. We will on 9-28 at Conner. They are not at the HHS level. Scott Co. thought they were, we see how that worked out. Someone mentioned in another thread that HHS should schedule Cooper next year. They may want re-evaluate that. Cooper is senior loaded. There are several key players going both ways, including the QB. Cooper needs to enjoy this, it could be back to reality next year. Playing in 5A may help them compete more, but keep expectations in check. JMO

^ Good points Coachg. Cooper having their best players going both ways would hurt them against Highlands. But they have the speed all across their team on both sides of the ball to play Highlands as well as anyone up here. The only way I see CCH beating Cooper would be with a best of season performance by the CCH defense. I believe Cooper's D would control the CCH offense. CCH likes to throw a lot of short passes like Holy Cross and Cooper's defense annihilated the Holy Cross short passing game. A Cooper-Highlands game would be fun to see.

 

To Clyde's comment about who Cooper has played, when you are as good as Cooper you make solid teams look bad. Holy Cross and Ryle are both better than what those scores make them look. I make my comments about Cooper using the eye test. Throw out who they played and look at how Cooper plays. They are fast, fast, fast. I would put them number 2 in my N. Ky. rankings after what I saw last night.

Are u bored or just mad because u couldn't make the game last night. Lol! To answer question, we will never know. They might be. I don't think so. HHS dominated a 6A power last night and beat what some in Danville consider 3rd best team in "6A", not sure what he is thinking, Boyle Cty rather easily once they imploded last week. Might be good game though.

Not ready to put them ahead of Highlands at this early stage of the season but they are clearly in the mix for that number 2 spot with CovCath and possibly Conner. I think Cooper is set to make a deep run in the playoffs.

Just because a team has put up big numbers the first two weeks does not make them as good as highlands. To say that Cooper would beat highlands is ridiculous. Cooper has got a solid squad, but let's get real. Highlands is a 5 time defending state champ.

No way they are as good as HHS, but neither is anyone else in NKY. I would be interested in a Cov Cath outcome but I think Cooper would be slight under dog against them as well. I put them #3 at this point.

No. IMO HHS & CCH are better...wish they played. I am sure both teams would rather play Cooper than Pendleton Co.

I have not got to see CCH yet. I would not use Holy Cross as a comparison for anything. They were senior loaded last year and played several guys both ways. HC will struggle this year. They may be lucky to win 2-3 games.

 

I will go with CCH over Cooper figuring they have similar talent and will be better prepared by a better coaching staff.
