Watched Richie Whitford a lot last night. Wow! He absolutely dominated his position last night. Haven't seen that type of dominance in some time from a lineman here. Poor kid on the other side looked like the kid off Blind Side going against Micheal Ohr. Good defensive player but dominated by his offensive opponent.

Ive been to lots of high school games, but last night I saw something I've never seen before.

The head coach for SC walked down the sideline to talk to one of his LB's after the play on JH's TD in the south endzone.The coach was screaming at the player at the top of his lungs. I was three quarters of the way in the bleechers and heard him plain as can be. The player was slowly walking to the sideline and the head coach started yelling at the player from the 20 yard line to the bench area at the 50 yard line. When the player stood at the 50 the coach, still yelling, went on yelling nose to nose for another minute.

So, my question is, where do coaches draw the line when the player makes a mistake on the field, to me, the coach didn't do anything but humiliate the player right in front of everyone in the bleechers.

I saw that too and allowing #29 who was not in pads but berating the Lineman everytime they came out of the game spoke volumes. If I was one of those guys I would have stood up and chokeslammed the kid.

There was new speakers installed three years ago before the X game it's not the sound system it's the operators. We tried to give the old man a retirement cake two years ago but was told no way he does the games as long as he wants. Some people just don't like change.

 

Everything about the PA system at the Highlands game is as bad as it gets....it is awful. Say what you want about the game being the most important thing but come on Ft. Thomas...is it really the hard to get it to sound good and to understand who made a tackle every now and again. And as far as change goes...at sometime you got to give it up....last night it sounded like a air horn got stuck for 5 min straight at the end of the first half...awful!

I was waiting for the air raid! The only thing missing was the how to climb under your desk during the disaster drill video on the jumbotron. Then the announcement that this is only test. That sound was worse than the emergency broadcast system test on tv! I know there is nothing wrong with that sound system because Jac C sounded clear as a bell on Thursday night. Scary how much he sounds like Chris. I think after last night it's time to move forward and pass the torch Mr. Seary(sp)! I'm told by a reliable source that the press box is being replaced and going to have 5 bays. 1 for each team, 1 for announcer, and one for the media (Internet Bradcaster). See what I did there, Brad Fennell. Haha.

I volunteer plenty of time but would be happy to volunteer more time and money because I care.

Scott County has lots of play makers and talent, but I don'tthink the coaches know what to do with it.

It only gets worse the further along you play. Football is a tough game played by tough people, coached by tough minded people.

When it involves a 16-17 year old kid, it's inexcusable. Sometimes, adults forget that they are supposed to act like adults. Yelling at your player is one thing, but abusively humiliating him does nothing positive for anyone.
