Although I can't hear the PA from where I stand, I don't think there is an issue with it. I was at the Frosh game on Thursday and it sounded great. Jac Collinsworth was at the mic and he sounds just like his dad. He brought a little Sunday Night football flavor to DCM on Thursday night.

The problem Friday night was caused by the Jumbotron wiring from what I was told, which makes sense since the Jumbotron isn't used for Freshman games on Thursday, is it?

 

While the PA guy for Friday nights undeniably makes mistakes, he didn't cause the problem Friday night. Neither was the PA system itself the problem. It was replaced in 09 as was mentioned previously. It's a good system and wasn't cheap. I'm not an electronics guru so I can't explain exactly what happened. Somehow the wiring of the Jumbotron interfaces with the wiring in the press box that runs the PA system. I know that they had people scrambling over to the Jumbotron electronics box during the game to try to fix the problem.

 

Evidently that didn't work from what I've read on here. I too stand in a position that doesn't allow me to hear the PA system even when it's working perfectly. I didn't even know there was a problem until someone brought it up on here.

How do Highlands fans stay excited knowing they are in 4A? That's like Alabama playing in the MAC. This game shows that the Birds need to ask the KHSAA to move up to 6A.

I think they have tried if I am not mistaken. It was my understanding KHSAA said no exceptions last realignment.

I would argue that 4A this year is a better fit competitively than 5A. In 4A they are going to have to go through a very good Cov. Cath team with a D-1 QB, a very good Lex. Cath team with a D-1 QB, and the best team from the western side of the bracket. That is more tough than what they would face in 5A.

True it is not a choice that Highlands or anyone else can make.

The PA system is unusual. There are places in the stadium where it is inaudible, yet I can usually hear it pretty clearly on my front porch, and I'm at least a 1/4 of a mile from the school.

I have to agree with Oldbird. I'd argue that 4A is the most competitive class in the state to be honest when looking at who Highlands will have to play just to make it to the state finals in 4A compared to everyone else. Scott County would be their 6A roadblock to a game against Trinity or St. X this season. We've seen what Scott County did against them.

What's a pogo stick? Bet there aren't 10 kids in Ft Thomas in 3rd grade that know and probably isn't 5 that have seen one. My girls are in 4th grade and I don't think they even know.

They are more popular than you think they call them fly bars too. I have seen a few but I am old school.
