Very impressive win for Highlands. I thought this game would be close.

 

Just think what the score might have been if this wasn't "the weakest Highlands team I have seen in years". I can't remember who said that.

Zach Harris really ran hard tonight and with authority. He pounded the ball up the middle. Great job by the O-Line also holding their blocks and allowing for positive yardage on just about every play. Hayes made a sweet cutback move and ran for 50 and a TD in the first half which was very impressive. McCoy hit Turner on a 50 yrd bomb where Turner had 3 steps on the kid.

 

1st Team Defense also played very well picking off the SC QB deep in SC territory twice. Schutte and Streeter made great picks to set up 2 TD's.

 

Kickoff return for TD was impressive for SC but outside of that they didnt really do much. All of those 2nd half points were against the JV kids.

That Boyle Co first half seems like light years ago....the way the Birds have played since the start of the 2nd half of the Boyle game through tonight's game has been very very impressive. They seem to be playing with more passion and intensity.

The rumors of our demise are GREATLY exaggerated! Go Birds!!

Mark Twain said it best, "The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.". Good call I was thinking the same thing.

 

Much sharper. Getting the ball first and running at will for the first score set the tone. SC had 3 very athletic skill players, but overall Highlands was much faster and quicker, especially on the lines.

Scott County is ranked 3rd right? Looks like we'd beat them. They got mollywopped tonight. From start to finish.

Scary to think how good Trinity is and what the final score might be in the 6A final this year. Highlands is great, Scott County is good, Trinity is special.

Scott County must have been gassed out of the gate.

Until your team beats a team higher than 3A or schedules 4A Highlands it would be wise to not mention us. I've seen you around. Maybe your team will get lucky and get smashed by us on the way to the state finals. I don't think you can beat Boone County. What 3A school do you play next week?

 

It's funny you go there, both teams have had similar success in the past 5 years or so.

I didn't get to go to the game. Who was playing well on the defensive line for Highlands.
