The postseason ban and the scholarship restrictions essentially prevent the program from fielding a team that can be competitive in the Big Ten. The N.C.A.A. will also allow Penn State players to transfer to another university, where they can play immediately, inviting the possibility of a mass exodus. Penn State will lose 10 initial scholarships and 20 total scholarships each year for a four-year period. Is that a total of 90? Am I reading that right?

July 23, 201214 yr Don't know. I was thinking 10 off the top and then 20 a year for the next four years following. I think it was cleared as saying 10 per year but the most you can have on scholly is 65 total each year.
July 23, 201214 yr Penn State gets four year bowl ban. Vacates all wins from 1998-2011. Paterno is no longer the all time leader in wins. (Bravo NCAA) He lost 111 wins. Now sits at 298. Fined $60 Million. Lost 10 initial and 20 total scholarships per year for 4 years Players can transfer immediately. This means UK just won the 1999 outback Bowl!

July 23, 201214 yr I understand all the penalties except vacating the wins. There was no competitive advantage. I am glad they got hit hard and they should be ashamed of what happened but still not sure about the wins taken away.

It also represents every win that the program had after the point in time where they decided the football program needed to be protected above the interests of Sandusky's present and future victims.
