I believe there are 5.

Dont know what is exactly going on with the whole death valley thingy but rumor has it Dale will have the boys practice inside the old "small gym" if need be. Doesnt really matter where they practice, it only matters whether they have somewhere to practice. LOL.

I did notice the soccer team using upper Rossford this morning? It seems like a few adjustments.

Death valley is now softball valley. The fence will stay up year round now. There will be a real fence put up over the next year but until then the plastic stays year round. The ftjrfl will no longer be paying games there either. That was deal struck with the ad pricaple and super last fall. The girls have been practing on thur and playing games on tues nights there.

Very true about both of them. When are these games played? Who do they play against?

 

I have not heard much about the Cain boy. He must be athletic to have been selected for the camp at UT. What are the expectations for the comming freshman year for these two players?

Cain played WR and some QB for the Red team 5'11" (still growing) about 145 (added 30 lbs since fall with the help of Wiefit)... Moved into town last year... Tall, athletic, soft hands, deceptively fast... Runs crisp routes... Should provide a nice target for AH. Played OLB on defense but probably more of a corner or safety as he gets older. Also played freshman baseball (Shortstop) and 8th grade basketball (Forward)

 

Dougherty is a hard nosed RB that has some pretty good legs but likes to run north/south... Definitly delivers the blow Tough on Defense too. My guess would be LB.

 

They had 7 on 7s tonight in TX and Cain caught a TD outrunning a couple DBs. They split the USA kids onto 3 teams... Cain is on the Blue squad and Dougherty is on the White (I think)... Two USA teams will play each other Thursday and the other one will play Sweden... Not sure who plays who yet... Did hear the Sweden team is bigger overall but maybe not as skilled. I will get more updates tomorrow...

Mitchell is a very skilled player and is only going to get better. Much better!!!! Thankfully his mother decided to move Mitchell into the school system so he could continue on her family tradition at Highlands. There are some big things down the road for Mitchell Cain.

Wow news travels fast from Austin. You must have some connection to what is going on down there. I was told that Mitchell is on the Blue Team and they will be playing the team from Sweden on Thursday morning. Yes he did have an impressive night during the 7 on 7's from what I understand.

 

Jared is playing on the White team that will be playing against the Red team on Thursday morning of what is being billed as the "Battle of America." My understanding is that he is playing some fullback as the two tailbacks on his team are supposedly ranked amongst the top five in the country.

 

Has been a very good experience for both and will only make them better football players this fall.

Not hard to rank kids IMO especially in football. Everybody develops differently but at that age I am sure there are some phenomenal athletes out there. There is a Frosh to be QB at Cincy St X who is supposed to be One of the best to come through the tristate in years. Im guessing he has talent If they are writing about a Frosh at a School that Size.

 

Great experience for those boys and looking forward to reading about the baby Birds this year.

This should be an exciting team to watch. A lot of the kids have been working out on their own desipte the dead period.

 

It seems they are drinking the cool-aid and this should pay off.

Go on YouTube and search MJ Stewart. He was on the U15 National team in Canton last summer. He was being billed as a top runningback as well. Check out his highlights from 2011....He was doing some things in Canton last year that is not normal for a 15 year old. I guess that's how they judge and rank them....At Camps! MJ was very good for his age.

I know of 1, Ben Ziegler of St Joes in Cold Springs. Son of Steve Ziegler HHS football class of 1986. It was between HHS & CCH. His experience in the FTJFL the last 2 years is the reason. Great kid and is still learning the game...
