Kentucky 67 Kansas 59 (KENTUCKY NATIONAL CHAMPIONS)

What a perfect game to end this run. Almost every played had their own HUGE moment that won the game. Lamb's back to back 3s, Teague's 3 and free throws, Jones saving the ball, MKG's block, Davis' blocks and lone field goal, Miller's jumper in the lane. So great to see a complete TEAM effort put them over the top.

Now have seen Cats win 5 of their 8 National Champions and this team and 98 team are my two favorites. Congrats to the Cats and Coach Cal and especially to Darius Miller.

Congrats to the Wildcats. This has been a fun team to watch.

38-2 Wow what a season sooooooooooooo happy for coach Cal now lets go get #9.

Congrats to the Cats! Definitely the best team in college hoops this year.

With that said, and taking nothing away from their excellent season and their 8th championship victory, is it just me or did the 2nd half feel oddly controlled by the network and its advertisers? Did someone pressure Cal (or pay him) to let Kansas back into the game making sure folks didn't turn their TV's off too early to go to bed? I couldn't quite figure who might've been in on the plan, the coach(es) and players, or just the coach(es)? After a nicely run tournament, something about this game felt dramatically different as if the players were merely finishing out the game with no real heart or emotion. It felt like Kansas got back into the game all the while not really playing so fantastically to do so. Perhaps I'm all wet and the lack of heart vibe that I was picking up on was from players being annoyed by all of the TV time outs which certainly can effect their flow. Especially when a TV time out comes immediately following a regularly called time out. I don't know but when a game such as this is played out on such a large scale magnitude where $$$ is a big deal, I start to get suspicious and start feeling weird vibrations such as I did here. I did not feel this way at all until the championship game. Once I started to feel this way in the 2nd half, championship victory or not, the plastic vibe that I was getting dramatically soured my excitement in the Cat's victory. I really like my sports teams to win in honest true fashion and not in some fixed manor controlled by $$$.

It was nothing more than Cal trying to shorten the game and get out of town with the title. He said as much last night and this morning...

So if my hunch was correct you mean that Cal would've confirmed that in his press statements as well? Whew... glad you cleared all of that up for me. My suspicions are completely gone...

So after what happened 5 years ago you think Cal was part of a conspiracy to let Kansas hang around? Go back in the doomsday shelter and wait it out...

No conspiracy theory with me, but seriously, why does Cal say he pulls the reigns on his players in the 2nd half? Why put yourself in a position where protecting a 2 posssion game under a minute? Keep the foot on the throat and still come out with a win. He doesnt have to protect his players who are getting tired, or make mistakes. Just say Kansas was making their run and was playing better.

Anthony Davis blocked or altered 18% percent of opponents' 2-point shots during the NCAA tournament, including 15.7% vs Kansas last night.

Bill Self is a class act. I really like that guy a lot. Also, shout out to all of the non-UK fans being class acts on this board. Kudos on that one, for sure. Glad Coach Cal got the monkey off of his back.

Can't wait to hear from the Cal haters. Only a matter of time before the $200,000 for Anthony Davis comes up again

......He was worth every penny of it if it's true :D

Congrats to the Cats and to all the Big Blue fans here on BGPs. Enjoy this time, it is so precious.

Wow! Even I wasn't born when UK won the first of the last 5.
