Didn't they only make like 9 the entire SEC tourney. I have been worried about UK's shooting ability in New Orleans for about 4 weeks now.

Pitino said after the game that he hopes UK wins, I really find it hard to bbelieve he means that deep down inside.

 

It's a smart thing to say but I find it hard to believe as well.

Like I said and the reason I was worried about the location of the Final Four you don't have to go back that far at all. UK was 1-8 vs LSU in the first game of the SEC tourney in New Orleans, they only won by 9. Count tonights game and UK is shooting a whopping 23.3333333% from 3 in New Orleans.

Poor job by CBS on replays. Teague got called for an offensive foul while driving and we never saw a replay be ause we saw 7 different angles of a Davis dunk.

 

Which might have been one of the worst charge calls of the night...for real.

After sleeping on it, I wake up this morning even more proud of the Cardinals! There's no one that can say we didn't give it our all. We came into the game knowng that we aren't a good shooting team. We still have lots of pieces to get into the puzzle, and that, along with knowing eveyone is coming back, bode well for a possible return trip next year. The future is bright for the Louisville Cardinals! What more can I ask for? But, I do take full responsibility for the loss. I watched, knowing I shouldn't.

 

I will be watching on Monday night, cheering on the Cats to show that the best basketball is played in Kentucky. They may be on top, but the state as a whole has been represented well throughout the tournament with Murray & WKU in addition to the Cards and the Cats. How can I be inconsolable knowing that the chances for the state to be recognized by the efforts and talent of the Cats?

I am very proud of Louisville. The offensive rebounding was outstanding, we just couldn't put those second and third chance shots in. Missed more point-blank range layups and dunks than you can shake a stick at.

 

Credit to Kentucky defensively for our 34% shooting. They didn't let Russ be Russ, let Kyle be Kyle, and cut off all of Siva's drives AND kick-outs. Siva got to the baseline to kick-out and noone would be open in the corner. Kentucky was patient.

 

I agree with all previous posters regarding the charge/block disadvantage. Its been occurring all season. I wonder if it was a point of emphasis withg the officials or something. There were also a ton of "non-calls" on both teams. When two players collide, it has to be a block or charge, but what it can't be is "play-on." Several times, half of both teams just stopped because they were sure of a foul, then (usually Kentucky) would grab the ball and get a sneak layup.

 

I really, really like Bill Self, but I will, for the sake of local commerce, pull for the Cats tomorrow.

I am not saying get rid of Cal or your team is bad. WHen I said ask for a refund, that your team is loaded and should win Monday. If they don't win ask Cal to refund your money for the travel to the game and tickets.......\

The SEC tournament was not in the SuperDome. Or do you mean New Orleans the city?

UL did show class last night.

They may not be ready for the NBA and maybe they are more committed to their team which is what college basketball should be all about. The one and done will evidentually catch up with UK, enjoy it while you can. Look at Coach Cal's track record, I think that speaks for itself! Can you see forfeits or probation in the near future and Coach Cal moving on? With UK having 5 players who may be going, the game should not have been this close. Congrats to Coach Pitino and his players for looking at the big picture and showing some committment to their school.

I saw the post game interview with Anthony Davis and I heard him thank the fans for traveling to New Orleans and that they want to win the title for them. I can't say I have heard a UK player say that before. Not saying noone hasn't said that but it was cool to hear Davis say it. He really gets it. So refreshing. I pray he doesn't end up on the Hornets or the Bobcats.

This game scared me to death. Proud of my Cats but a gritty and tough performance by UL. Congrats to both teams and their fans.

 

Did your buddies, Jim and Steve, make it through the game all right? I talked to Steve in Richmond Friday and we were laughing about how crazy we become while watching a big UK game. He said he goes into another 'zone'. I sure wouldn't want anyone videoing me during a game.:lol:
