Trimble County Back - Kinda?

Was curious about the status of the Trimble County program. As you may remember, they canceled their season last year due to low initial numbers (although several more kids came out after a final call was made). Per this article it appears they are returning to the gridiron in 2019 with a Junior Varsity team.

"High School football returns to Trimble County as TCHS will be fielding a Junior Varsity team for the 2019 season, with plans to return to varsity competition in the near future."

And while they are supposedly only playing JV, the Indiana High School schedule page has them playing a road varsity game at Switzerland County on September 6.

No matter the details, I'm happy to see football returning to Bedford! :thumb:

They had a posting on the KHSAA site back in early May for a football coach. From the article, it looks like Brian Simmins is the man. No idea from me on who Coach Simmins is.

Simmins has been an assistant in NKY for a decade plus. He was at Scott for a while, and at Walton Verona some too. No idea where he has been more recently.

Showing my age here: back in 2001-2002 he was on staff. Taught there in ‘05-06 but coached elsewhere I believe.
