North Oldham / Oldham County predictions

The North Oldham Mustangs (8-8) have become one of the most improved teams in the 8th region midway through the season....they travel to Buckner, KY on Friday to face the Oldham County Colonels (15-2), ranked #14 in Bluegrasspreps.com's latest top 20 ranking.

Besides being a county rivalry game, the game has other ramifications. It's a 29th district seeding game, and both teams still have a shot at the district tourney #1 seed. The current district standings:

South Oldham 2-0

North Oldham 1-0

Oldham County 1-1

Trimble County 0-3

An Oldham win gives the Colonels a chance to win the #1 seed, if North then wraps up the district seeding season with a victory over South Oldham.

A North Oldham victory means that the North-South game on 1/30/18 at South Oldham would decide the team that goes into the tournament with the #1 seed.

Game has been moved to Monday 1/22/18 at 7:30 pm.

This will now be a boys' game only (the girls' part of the doubleheader was moved to 1/16/18).

This will be Oldham's final seeding game; North will still have to play South Oldham on 1/30/18. If North defeats Oldham, the North-South game will decide the #1 seed.

If Oldham wins, and North defeats South, we will have a three-way tie for the #1 seed.

Of course, South makes everything a moot point by beating North on the 30th, as they would be 3-0 in district play and would cement the #1 seed in the district tourney by winning that game.
