Lincoln County 53 Russell 47 (Traditional Bank Holiday Classic)

Recommended Posts

Valiant effort by the Lady Devils in defeat against a very good Lincoln County squad. Russell came out strong and led by 10 after the 1st period and held an eight point lead at the half. After continuing to trim their deficit in the 3rd, the Lady Patriots outscored Russell by 10 in the 4th period to complete the comeback win and stay unbeaten at 7-0.

Emma King scored a game high 25 for Lincoln County, with Maddy Boyle chipping in 13. Russell placed three in double figures, led by Madison Darnell with 18. Ty Mitchell and Kaeli Ross each had 11.

Lincoln has a really nice club. Unfortunately they are in a region with Mercer County. Last year Mercer beat them by 23 and 16 in their two meetings. They play this season at Mercer on February 6. It will be interesting to see if the Patriots have closed the gap any.
