Belfry has a stable of great backs...Wellman,Varney,Hunter,Hensley,and Atkins just to name a few...

Hunter and Wellman have the potential to be a special combo this year. Taveon really came on at the end of last year and could be set for a huge season if he continues to work hard.

Any list of EKY backs should probably start with Cory Smith from Hazard. I'm pretty sure he's the state's leading returning rusher with 2905 yards and 39 TDs. Eye popping numbers, for sure.

Agreed, Smith is a stud and will put up monster numbers.

JJ Jude also has to be at the top as well. Over 2000 yards as a Sophomore for Johnson Central.

Jackson for Johnson central is a special type of back...very quick and core strong...can't Waite to see how he fairs now he on the radar...

Patrick Edwards at Southwestern will be back for his senior season after gaining over 1,000 yds in each of his first three seasons..

I am calling it now.

Belfry's Taveon Hunter will have a HUGE 2017 Season.

Hunter kind of exploded onto the scene in late November going for 11 carries for 294 yards and 6 TD's combined in the Semi's and Finals.

He has apparently been working his butt off this Summer. He has bulked up, gotten faster (saw where he ran 11.2 in the 100), and has been playing with a travel 7 on 7 team and playing well.

With Wellman demanding attention in the middle I could see Hunter going off for a big season and earning some collegiate looks.

JJ Jude graduated from JC in 2012. Joe Jackson is returning and will be a junior.
