Frankfort High/Franklin County Predictions

FHS's offensive line struggled mightily against WHHS. Look for FC's d-line to make a difference in this game. Wesley Watkins and Company will not let the Panthers take this one from them. Go Flyers.... I cannot wait til kickoff Friday. -
Frankfort High/Franklin County Predictions

This was said last year as well. I am an avid FC fan and I am sick of hearing about FHS naming the score year and an year out when the Flyers have owned the series since it was renewed. -

This is not true. The Flyers start freshman, but not 9 of 11 players. -

I am hoping the Flyers continue to improve this week. A win here could do wonders for the Flyers season as it would give the younger players so much more confidence. This is the biggest game of the season thus far for the Flyers. The Flyers have to win the battle up front and just play harder than FHS. I am excited to see the outcome of this one. I am taking the Flyers by a touchdown. -
A bit suprised by how close this was, but anything can happen in cross-town rivals. FHS has another emotional week as they host another cross-town rival Franklin County.

Teegarden must have his troops ready to play. Two wins in 3 games is a first in school history. -
Flyers seem to be getting better and will be tested again this week against cross-town rival Frankfort High down at Bellepoint. I was very surprised to see this game so close, but hats off to the Flyers. 13 of Lafayette's points came from poor coaching calls.... A onside kick returned for a TD in the 1st quarter and a fake kneel interception return for a TD with less than 20 second remaining in the 1st half. Stepp needs to trust his players and not try and overcompensate for his lack of trust with trick plays. I am glad that Timmons is finally seeing the field and getting the ball, the kid is the real deal. Keep working Flyers and get that first win next week against the Panthers. Its how you're playing in November not September so keep improving.

I think Hills is going to win this one. I don't think this one is going to be as close as everyone thinks. I am going with WHHS 38 FHS 14. -
Franklin County/ Lafayette Predictions

I am hoping my Flyers come out ready to play for the home opener. This is a night of first for the Flyers at home with it being the home opener and Stepp's home debut. I say Lafayette wins this one, but I hope FC doesn't quit. Go get 'em Flyers. -

Danville big time in this one. Stepp just isn't the guy FC needed. Parents are already wanting Coach Ledford back. -

Bob Allen Pigskin Classic banquet was tonight in Danville and Aaron Stepp was the only head coach not in attendance. I hope he is game planning for Danville. I am planning on making the trip to Admiral Stadium. -

Jeremy Gardner is the answer to both of these questions. He is the starting quarterback and scored on a two yard run. -

He did not return to the team. Not only is he the teams QB, but he was a great high school punter. He is a great baseball pitcher and has a chance to go far with baseball. I believe his priority was just baseball. -

Franklin County is just struggling right now and dealing with a lot of adversity. They return one starter on the offensive line and he is out 4-6 weeks with a ankle injury. Their best skill player has torn his meniscus and is out. Another skill guy who contributed last year is out. Quarterback is gone. The Flyers are simply rebuilding and need time. Stepp needs to figure out how he is going to use the team's talents because he is defintely not doing that right now. Franklin Goins, Wesley Watkins and Jeremy Gardner being experienced veterans need to fill the roles of being leaders. Watkins looked like a seasoned veteran at Left Tackle and is a force to be reckon with on defense. Gardner is taking a lot on his back right now by playing QB. I hope the Flyers can turn it around with Danville looming on the schedule for next week.
