  1. I heard he lives with his mother in the Somerset school district, and that is how he transfered from Pulaski to Somerset. I think he would be better off staying at Somerset, their system is good for him, plus they have a very good reciever back in John Cole. Being from Lynn Camp I would rather see him go to Whitley.
  2. Your still perfect.
  3. Congrats to Barbourville. Not a good tourney for the 52nd district.
  4. Unless something comes up I'm making the trip.
  5. Last night was my first trip to Clay, but not the last for the week, and I have no complaints. I don't like split sessions, but also understand why they do it. The only complaint I heard was how much time in between games.
  6. I was proud of the effort of Lynn Camp. LC played hard for 4 quarter against one of the state's best. Early in the game it looked LC was very nervous against South, and didn't settle down until the second half. I thought they played a good 3rd quarter against South's starters. In the first half LC struggled with the press, and I wouldn't be surprised if South didn't run 5 offensive sets in the first half. Most points came off of run outs. Allan and Hammonds had a monster game for South. LC was also killed on rebounds. A lot of LC possessions were one and done. Good learning experince for the Wildcats, and hopefully the program will continue to grow.
  7. I was pretty happy with our score tonight. Yes it could have been worse, and it was, but I was proud of the second half effort from Lynn Camp, they didn't roll over and play dead, they played hard. Plus they scored 71 more than any team in the region. Yes I know they played their JV, in the 4th, but hey give us a break we needed something positive. Hopefully the next trip to the region won't come after another 40 years. Congrats to South.
  8. We are a joke we know that, we don't belong, and will never get any respect, and we are use to being put down. We are not a power program, nor has anyone implied that. Les hit the nail on the head, when LC plays as a team, they are good team, when they lose their composure and play selfish they are not. We are not a basketball power, this is only the third time in school history we have made the region, and Coach Pennington is trying to build a program, and it can't be built overnight, baby steps are need to be taken with a program that has struggled over the years like LC, and it took a step forward by making it to the region. I still believe that LC can play with all but two teams in the region. I never said beat, I said play with, and what I mean is play within 10 points when they are playing as a team. Since we don't play the others, and play a team that has beaten every team they have faced in this region by double digits, I guess will never know how LC would have played the others in the region tourney.
  9. I'm sure it will be an emotional night for him.
  10. I agree with your picks, but i'm picking the Hounds in final first round game.
  11. If you make it this far no team is lucky to be playing, they are doing something right. LC beat Pineville on thier home floor they earned the right to play in the region. It is not their fault what district they play in. It seemed most of the districts have weak teams in them since LC made it because they are weak. Lynn Camp has beaten at least two teams in each of the other districts. 49th Red Bird and Jackson, 50th Whitley and Williamsburg, 51st Pineville and Knox Central, and 52nd Cumberland and Evarts.
  12. Tough draw for LC the only two teams that I feel LC couldn't play with are Barbourville and South. South for obvious reasons and Bville because I feel they are intimidated of them. LC has nothing to lose, they need to go out and have fun and enjoy the tourney tomorrow night. I really hope the won't try and run with South or it will get really bad.
  13. Monday North Laurel vs Bell County South Laurel vs Lynn Camp Tuesday Barbourville vs Cawood Corbin vs Clay County Not sure about the times but I would think the first would start around 6 and the second 8 or 8:30.
  14. I don't remember what it was exactly, but at last year combine at Lynn Camp Jimmy was at around 40 inch vertical leap.
  15. If he is out, who will get the job. Will they go after that one coach (Can't think of his name off the top of my head) from Florida that brought his team up for the CFIT?
  16. Would Barbourville have a better record than North if they played the schedule North has this year? I don't think they would. It would be about the same maybe a little worse.
  17. Clay is a dangerous team, not because they are playing at home, as much as they have played a lot of close games this season, and have found ways to win.
  18. Most likely Monday, which gives the team that play that day not much time to get ready. My rankings 1. South 2. Clay 3. Corbin 4. North 5. Bell 6. Barbourville 7. Cawood 8. Lynn Camp
  19. I would think an ideal draw for the Hounds would be to play Bville, Cawood or Bell in the first round, and one of those three playing North in the first round with two winners meeting in the semis. The bad thing about that is it would mean Lynn Camp would draw Clay or South in the first round.
  20. The radio said Hammonds hurt his wrist is he alright?
  21. I said the other day that LC can play with most teams in this region, if they play together, and tonight they played a great team game, and played 4 quarters something they didn't do the first time these two teams played. I thought LC feeded off the play of Freshmen Jonah Mitchell, who played as well as I have seen him. Adam Bray, Cody Dixon, Nathan Tanner, and Joe Siler also played very well on both ends of the floor. Big win for LC advancing to the District finals, and I think to the schools first visit to the region. Congrats to LC and Coach Pennington on his biggest win to date as coach of the Campers.
  22. Lynn Camp played Pineville pretty well the first time for a half. I believe it was 4 or 5 point game at the half, and in the 3rd quarter LC fall apart, and Pineville turned it up, and shut down Dixon. Lynn Camp has not played very well on the road this year, and Pineville will be fired up, you know they don't want their season to end on their home floor. LC will need to match their intensity, if they do they can make a game of it. I still believe LC has the talent to play with all the teams in the 13th with the exception of South. Will LC play to their potential or will it be another big win for Pineville. I hope they pull the upset, but it will take a miracle.
  23. #1 South Laurel vs. #4 Williamsburg South Laurel 93 Williamsburg 38 #2 Corbin vs. #3 Whitley County Corbin 68 Whitley County 49 Championship #1 South Laurel vs. #2 Corbin South Laurel 76 Corbin 54
  24. There was no they said about it, Jimmy Chaffin was hurt against Paintsville. He hurt his hip in the first quarter of the game, but he showed a lot of heart gutting it out the rest of the game. To risk him from getting hurt worse he mainly played defense, because Lynn Camp was not a 1 player team in the backfield. Joe Roskopf had over 1000 yards, and Josh Reynolds had over 900 yards rushing. Chaffin will more than likely play special teams and receiver in the game. Blume is a tailback I believe, and Chaffin is not, he was a wing back or halfback what ever you want to call it, and I could be wrong, but I don't look for the KY All-Stars to lineup much in the power I. Chaffin is a great athlete, he can help any team, because if he played at a different school with a different style of offense, he may have played QB or wide receiver, but since LC is a power running team it made sense for him to play in the backfield, because of his explosive abilities to make plays. You compare Chaffin and Blume to one game, and going by that you would be correct. Going by one game of Chaffin against Class A state semi-finalist Somerset, Chaffin had over 100 yards rushing, 100 yards receiving, 70 yard+ kick return for a td, and threw one pass for 30 yards, and kicked several extra points. Another big game of his that shows he is more than a runningback was against Pikeville in the regional championship game in 2003, where Jimmy rushed for over 100 yards and 3 tds, threw for over a 100 yards a two tds, had around 50 yards receiving, and picked off a pass on defense. Ron Blume is a great player, and he did somethings on the gridiron that people in the mts will be talking about for years to come, and I wish he would have been selected, and I understand where the JC fans are coming from. In 1999 Quentin Henson of Lynn Camp who is in the top 5 in career rushing in the state, was not selected that year.
