I have much respect for Larry. But he's wrong in this instance. Mr. Football isn't based on what someone did in his career. At least, it's not supposed to be. It should be based on who the best senior is that year, regardless of what he did in his freshman, sophomore and junior seasons. Pulley was simply the best player that season, IMO. It could have gone to either of those three athletes, but I think Pulley was just a hair better.

North Hardin Christian, a school on a two-year probationary period before it enters the KHSAA, is supposed to have a turf field when its stadium is complete.

1. LaRue County 21, Corbin 20, 2001 Class 2-A playoffs -- LaRue wins in overtime at home to avenge a loss to Corbin the year before. Great game that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. 2. Lexington Catholic 62, Franklin County 28, Nov. 16, 2005 -- Lopsided game by score, but the teams combined for 1,100 total yards of offense. 3. Lexington Catholic 44, Franklin County 38, 2006 Class 3-A playoffs -- Franklin County led 32-7 at halftime, only to watch Catholic come roaring back in the second half. To this day, it amazes me how Catholic was able to come back like that. 4. Moore 48, Elizabethtown 44, Oct. 4, 2007 -- Back and forth game. Moore's backfield tore E'town secondary up that night. Don't see how E'town lost that game, but it didn't matter in the playoffs when E'town beat Moore, 35-0. 5. St. X 31, Meade County 3, 2007 Class 6-A playoffs -- Meade County had an amazing run last season, and I was there on the sidelines to see it come to an end. Meade never quit in that game, but they just couldn't stop X.

Ya'll need to build steps around back of that thing. Trekking through the bleachers to get to the pressbox is just as treacherous as sitting up at the top on a very windy night.

Nelson County surprised the heck out of me last year. The Cards have almost everyone back from that team and should be just as good, if not better, than last year. As far as Meade County goes, they have a lot to replace off last year's team. At this point, I'm not sure if they're the team to beat in that district or not.

I'm not a Fort Knox supporter by any means, but they really need to move the Eagles out of that district with Bardstown and Danville.

He's graduating this year, so he won't be back. Junior Micheal Thomas, also the catcher on the baseball team who has an above average arm, will be back at QB this year.

Those were some mighty fine numbers Riggs and McDonald put up that year. But then again, it helps when you have a gunslinger like Ammons at QB.

Threw a second consecutive perfect game against No. 11 Heath in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., today. Mayfield threw a perfect game on Sunday against Corbin.

The scoreboard has changed since last night. It now says DC plays Evansville Harrison on the 29th. Originally it had DC playing EH on the 22nd and Franklin-Simpson on the 29th. I guess someone put the info in wrong or something ...

KHSAA scoreboard says they play on the 22nd.

Daviess County is scheduled to play Evansville Harrison on Aug. 22. The KHSAA opening weekend isn't until Aug. 28-29. Why is Daviess getting to play a week earlier than everyone else?

Wrong. They're in separate districts.
