- Visiting team says No. 7 batter batted out of order and should be out since No. 6 batter should still be at the plate (Said runner interference does not constitute a complete at-bat)

- After both umps have meeting, they rule No. 6 batter's plate appearance was a fielder's choice to end the sixth

- With No. 8 batter now up, visiting pitcher has a wild pitch (No. 7 batter moves to third). No. 8 batter singles home winning run

Don`t recall the proper at bat ruling --- fielders choice, base hit, ......... HOWEVER the umpires made the correct ruling. The 6 hitter did indeed finish her at bat and had there been no outs when the interference occured the 6 hitter would have been placed at 1st base. The no. 7 hitter definately would be the proper hitter leading off the next inning. NICE JOB BLUE :thumb:

I will second that call as well.

 

The #6 batter gets credited with being on first base via a fielders choice to end the inning thus meaning that the #7 batter would have to start off the next inning.

 

Now if you wanted to score the play that ended the bottom of the sixth, if I'm not mistaken, the person that is CLOSEST to the ball when the interference is called gets credit for the putout....the only other ruling then would obviously be the person that got ran into, if they were not the closest, would get the putout.

I agree as well. The number 6 hitter's at bat is scored as a fielder's choice with the nearest fielder getting credit for the putout.
