What does Frankfort need to do to improve in 2008? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Offensive line will be young. After loosing 5 starters up front Coach Foley has his hands full. Also have to replace Jordan Morgan at RB and MLB. He was the heart of last years team. Panthers have a lot of questions marks, but have plenty of talent. Frankfort also made the mistake and let one of the best football minds leave the coaching staff. Not sure how Foley will replace his DC.

Frankfort will be good enough to win a District Title.

Frankfort is always good, is this a hot bed of speed? I have never saw them play but everyone tells me they have tons of speed.

And A very good OC, that I heard may not be there next year? If so I sure will miss him.

Why are they all leaving?

Lack of $$$$$

School lack of committment for the program.

Is the lack of commitment to the program just a result of lack of money available to the school?

What could you possibly want the district to do that it has not done?

What could you possibly want the district to do that it has not done?

Let me say I am by no means want to say anything that seem like the folks at FHS do not care. There are a bunch of great people in that district. But there comes time when a program reaches a certain level that the school district has to decide if the want athletics to be important in the district.

The football program has reached a point that you have to upgrade certain things to take you to the next level. Over the last 5 years the program has come from the basement to the top floor in Class A. So if you want to be in the final 4 on a consistant year it takes more.

Example of up grades needed.

1) Assistant coaches currenly make $1000. You can't keep quality coaches around with chump change.

2) The field is staring to look like a cow pasture.

3) Press Box needs up grading

4) Consession stand needs upgraded.

5) field house needs upgraded

6) weight room need work

7) uniforms

8) Practice equipment is needed.

9) Program has NO VIDEO equipment

This is just a small sample.

Facilities & winning recruits kids. Not coaches. So in order to keep kids interested in coming to Frankfort up grades have to be made.

This statement will some it up

"Everyone wants to go to heaven, but no one is willing to die to get there!" ackism 1:1

In plain terms everyone wants a Championship but no one wants to do what it takes to get there.

How involved of a booster club do you have at FHS, while some of that stuff should be Board paid, what does the booster club provide?

There is only one booster club that is for all sports. The parents work hard but they are trying to fund all sports.

#1. You do realize that the LIBRARIAN at the high school had 10 days cut from her contract 2 years ago, and that the bookkeeper had days cut from her contract this past year.

#2. Have you looked lately at the educatioal facilities in the district? Second St. which has sorely needed a roof for many years is just now getting one.

#3. The windows in every building leak heat and air.

#4. there is no baseball field,

#5. there is no soccer field,

#6. there is no softball field there is no track, there are no tennis courts

#7. The bands got their first uniforms in almost a decade just this spring

#8. (couldn't find a good analogy to practice equipment in a short time)

#9. How is the technology for the school district????

Have you checked out the third building in the district lately to see what kind of facilities it has?? You have better bathrooms in the field house than Wilkinson Street School has.

We could go on like this for a while, but you cannot say the distrit does not support the football program or other athletics. The simple fact is that the district does not have money and these are lean economic times and the state legislature has not helped out. This year alone Frankfort Independent has lost almost all of its ESS money and 25% of its' safe schools money - which helped pay for a school social worker. Where would you like them to get the money to pay for these things?

Go check out the baseball facilities at Western Hills. Those facilities were built by the baseball booster club and the upgrades have been contributed by the booster club. And they have had the same coach there since 1991. Most of the work done at Franklin Co's baseball field was also contributed by their boosters and alumni.

The booster club at Western Hills raised money to pay for a third assistant for both the boys and girls basketball programs.

you see, I completely agree with you that you cannot attract and keep good coaches with that kind of pay, but in this district you cannot pay more than that unless you have people raising money to help out.

Acemona, you make some very valid points in regards to the financial situation of the Frankfort Independent School District. With this being said, the brightest moments of the school year will be a Regular Season District Football Title....Post Season District Title...Regional Football Titile...Final Four appearance, and a win over Danville in Title Town. I'm sure that the non revenue sports that you mentioned benefited from the 4 post season games that were played at Sower Field. All Coach Bucket is saying is that the accomplishents of the Football Team at Frankfort this past season did a lot for the Community, and there needs to be changes made so that this level of achievement contiunes. Best of luck to Coach Foley and the program in the upcoming season.

You talk about what they lose and don't mention E.J. Fields? Wow.
