Was he # 89 last year? I saw their JV play Conner at the end of last season and # 89 made two unbelievable diving catches in the end zone in that game. I think he was lining up as a tight end. He also made several other catches in that game, made a whole bunch of tackles on defense and punted very well. I certainly noticed him and was very impressed.

Boone didn't play that bad. They just played a Beechwood team that is a lot better than everyone gives them credit for.

Any glaring problems here. 1. Trey Beutel is from Beechwood. 2. Beechwood over the last two years with this senior class is 28-0. Are in the top 10 in the state in Defense in point allowed per game. They are playing straight up man to man 99% of the time, and they do not get defensive player of the year, or player of the year, or even Mr Hustle. They have a player who nearly averaged a double/double agaisnt DIII and didn't even make the team, somethings smells bad along the river and it isn't the water!! 3. Beechwood caught a lot of flack last year because it was their turn to host the district and they gave it to Holmes to get a bigger gate.

Not entirely true. NKU chose SMG as its arena management company through a competitive bid process before construction started on the arena and SMG's contract will eventually be up for renewal (maybe as early as 2 - 4 years). As a result, NKU has a tremendous amount of influence and maybe next time NKU will hire Global Spectrum (the other management company who bid on the NKU arena management contract).

Hall and Hyde did guard Bryan. They did a nice job. They also jumped him with a double down to force him to give up the ball at half court. When he did get by them Snyder and Smith were there to alter his shots. It was a nice team effort defensively by the tigers. Fans like to talk about the uptempo style they play, but it is the defense they play that really makes Beechwood a tough game for everyone.

Details on the game, heard Romes didn't score much, nor did Beutel. I f that is the case then others are stepping up and that will make Beechwood even tougher to contend with.

Heard Beechwoods JV coach kept the best two freshies at Beechwood last night for the JV action. When the freshman coach has all his players the are pretty solid!

:jump: Hey Mr. Rho, SLusher isn't even on the Beechwood roster. He played football, he should play basketball. He could help out Beechwood a great deal, as could Daniels. The player you are thinking of is Snyder, who along with Smith have a nice inside game for Beechwood.

It was split last year, the D III coaches gave it to Love of VIlla, the Coaches association gave it to Hall of Beechwood. I think it is very early in the season to be predicting awards of this type, but in my opinion any player of the year award should go to a player that helps his team be successful.You do not base it on statistics alone. They should be involved in the process, but the success of a team (considering basketball is a team sport) should have more value on the outcome of awards such as this!

:argue: Have you seen Beechwood play Hulk! I have been to several of their games the past two years. They are a very solid team. Well coached. Kids work hard, give them some credit. They play Conner at Conner this friday. Show up and watch a great game, then pass judgement. I think you will be a little surprised by what you see! I will buy you a hot dog for that Giant Hulk appetite!

Was over 20 before Beechwood put in the JV squad, Dixies JV squad was much more aggresive than Beechwoods.
