It's a shame Newport didn't have Shawn Klaas available to throw today, as I'm sure it would have been a better game.

Wow this Smith boy must really be a stud. He throws near 90 mph and hits the longball. What more can you ask from a kid? He is an ideal high school baseball player.:ylsuper:

Let's face it, Smith can pitch. Hitting is not one of his great attributes but if he continues to hit this season and the team puts up 3 or 4 runs per game look for Beechwood to be in the race.

This is correct, Beechwood stoped running and only advanced 1 base at a time. I believe Coach Myerhoff showed complete respect to Coach Brown.

I can only hope so. More of a rebuilding year this year. Like the Beechwood team 2 years ago. All the seniors that graduated last year were just Juniors with the one or two varsity experienced players. Same goes for this team except with 3 seniors and have mostly Sophomores.

Newport had a bad game and Beechwood is a real good team.One bright spot for Newport was sophmore SS Travis Jones was 2 -2 with a double and two rbi.
