  1. Since when is it not ok for a coach to be chosen by the Principal, according to KERA they are in charge of hiring at their school, correct? I'm sure I'm missing part of the story....the only position in a school that is hired by a committee is the Principal's job itself, which is done by site base council.
  2. Good win for Coach Griesser and the Indians, not a bad first year so far....when are they naming the new Arena after him? "Coach G's Place" ....kinda has a ring to it!
  3. Big win for the Cardinals, they looked like a unit again. Looks like late in the games Adam's took the helm at point, a good night for all, the bench even provided some solid minutes! Good luck to the Cards tomorrow night!
  4. I agree with the "well timed loss"......that is as long as that doesn't turn into well timed losses....
  5. Did they not make you a fan the other night, how did you know I bleed defender green:thumb: Predictions are just that....predictions, bottom line someone needs to step up at PG for the Cards, that is evident to all fans. I'll take the Cardinals by Five, no doubt it will be an exciting night!
  6. I think SC may possibly look at putting in a different Press Offense with current guard situation next time they face Station's Full Court Pressure, not sure if any of the "cards" they hold are capable of penetrating those traps!
  7. Mason did not have an "agressive" press which may have been the reason SC was the victor, Not sure if Portwood is going to be able to handle pressure at point either, if SC is going to make a title run they need Portwood as a shooter IMO. I look to see the 8th Grader taking over the PG spot by Tourney time.....a bold prediction.
  8. 9:00 Semifinal of Toyota Classic, game will be on internet broadcast, http://www.toyotaclassic.com. Gainesville Coach Tony Wise is SCHS Alum and Georgetown College Grad, son of the Hall of Famer Jack Wise. Should be a shoot out at the "Birds Nest".
  9. Bath is out of school, get to sleep in and have a shootaround I'm guessing. Bath by 10. Are they already calling off school for big basketball games or is it that cold in Sharpsburg?
  10. The org. post was done before Bryan Station demolished Scott County at home.......
  11. In the Bluegrass Conference if you are held back in 6th grade for academic reasons you are granted your 6th grade year athletically over again, this gives some athletes 4 years of elgibility.
  12. I like that name "The Tub" do they really call it that? I am going to have to go with "the Hill" in this one, Bath should have saved their upset for the All A.....
  13. Anyone know what time it will be done, I take it that Friday is NEXT Friday?
  14. ....I still think you need to make it to the big show (Sweet 16) in a tight race for Mr. Basketball!
  15. SC is going to have to step it up tomorrow and Saturday, guard play is sketchy!
  16. Cov Cath Stone Mountain Scott County Gainesville Semifinal Match Up, that is if the out of state teams win tonight, should make for an interesting Friday Night, Kentucky battling Georgia and Florida! For some reason the out of state teams never do well in this tourney.
  17. Congratz to Bath, keep the ball rolling, Coach Hicks is going to have the gym named after him if he keeps on!
  18. This is a very valid point you make! I think it should be the call of the superintendent in the district....that's who the principal is going to call anyway.
  19. I can see where there are obviously two sides to this argument, not sure I could deal with losing a D1 scholarship tearing my ACL playing a sport that was not my focus......I wonder if some coaches mention this to their athletes before they sign them?
  20. When saying "most" I was referring to policies not schools. Whats the point of having the policy if you are not going to follow it? This is a major problem with school policies in general.....
  21. Most policies state no school no play, these policies can completely ruin a tournament that is attempting to be played during cold weather! Most schools that host tournaments try to get it written in a contract that they will come if weather permits no matter if school is on or not.
  22. In 2000 Mr Basketball Scott Hundley played Baseball after he signed with Vanderbilt. I dont believe HS athletes should ever have to "choose" that is unless it is their own choice. It's hard enough to compete at multiple HS Varsity sports as it is with "year-round" competition. Athlete just like anyone else could get hurt walking down the street, let the kids be kids while they can!
  23. I believe Pieratt had 54 that game and that is our record, although Casey Alsop poured in 48 vs St. Raymond/Julius Hodge in the 5/3rd in 1999-2000, the best shooting exhibition I've ever seen.
