John Cole Somerset has to be in the running, he is best player i have seen this year. His stats are well noted.

Breathitt Co. has just one middle school, SMS and its all we have but we usually get all or most of the better athletes to play for Breathitt Co. High. Seems as tho this freshman class isn't what it usually is, i think only one or two are in practice at this time, last year we had a bumper crop,8-9 good freshman's coming from middle school with two starting for Breathitt High School, I must say they have as good bunch of athletes in 8th grade as we have had in a while, and same goes for their football program, they were loaded also didn't do as well but lots good ones that will help both our programs at Breathitt High School.

They are lots good players that only play one sport, but most small mountain schools have to have their kids play all the sports and that means to share their athletes. I do know at Breathitt Co. 5-6 athletes play football and do well in that sport and it hurts the basketball program and until football play-offs are over they don't want nothing to do with a basketball. Then after the final football game then they get ready for basketball and have to work very hard to get in shape to run the floor, and be as good as the kids that's been practicing for a month cause they are a difference in what kind of shape you have to be in , but teams and schools have to do what they have to do to suit up and play, but in my opinion it does hurt basketball here in mountains as much as any where in state. Its hard for team sports not to compete for athletes and that's where coaches need to help each others programs cause without the best athletes playing none of their programs will be what they should or can be. As a fan of all high school sports i do hope our kids get to play every sport they can, or want to play cause when they graduate they can never get to play the true sport , and that's being a high school athlete, dont we all just love watching them play what ever sport it is.

Fleming Co. has a young team,as does Breathitt Co. they will be to tend with in yrs. to come Coach Peterson is a quality coach and will get things going soon.

Breathitt Co. Has three and maybe four thats going to be good players and soon,Channing Fugate,Jade Haddix and DaKota Ritchie and last one is Robby Huff who maybe be most improved player this year.

Mike Holcomb Complex Breathitt Co. is really a good place to watch a football game covered and will hold between 3500 and 4000 fans ,and yes the visitors side will hold a few ,and they are working to get that improved,i hear we getting new field ,i hope it's true,grass is too much trouble to keep up,so if we get another state championship,we just may have turf on Mike Holcomb Field also.....

I have talked with a big time college coach and he told me that Florida,Texas and California had more D-1 football players than rest of states combined. I was kinda surprised when he said that any given year the state of Florida had between 120-130 D-1 football players.Also with all the D-1 college programs in that state it was getting harder and harder to get the players he use to get,he was really not to excited with all the new programs on block,like South Florida,Central Florida he said these were going to be big time programs,and replace Florida,Florida State and Miami ,it was hard for me to believe this but he said it was true.

Like i have stated before Breathitt Co. Bobcats has all pieces togeather,Sr QB in Colby Fugate,Center Scott Bailey may be best in East,O-Line with Hunter Morgan and Mike Turner,and ends in Wess Epperson ,Ryan Allen and Hearld and Runners Channing Fugate and Chris Jackson all on Offense...Strength,quickness makes it all good.... On Defense something i said was supsect but has come along just fine very Young D-Backs in Jade Haddix and Channing Fugate,good D-line in Johnny Johnson ,Jaun Little,and D-End Dakota Ritchie,linebackers Dusty Allen and Chris Jackson Corners Huston Noble,Ryan Allen ,all are hard hitters ,quick,and tough.....and lots of these are 10th graders or Jr's so looks good for next Year... Then Coaching, Coach Mike Holcomb is one of the best offensive minded coaches around,and Coach John P.Chapman is a Guru at defense, so barring injury to key players Breathitt Co.has all the Pieces togeather to make 2007 Championship game,Dont you think.........Go Bobcats.....

Johathan Chapman has to be the best that ever ran the ball for the Breathitt Co. Bobcats('96),he went to UK,and close second was Danny Back,he could be one of the best to ever play for the Bobcats,a talent back in the late '70's(('78) he was not only a good back but was a great linebacker if he would have only played offense it hard telling how good he would have been went to Morehead State and played some.....Go Bobcats......

Colby Fugate senior QB of Breathitt Co. has to be in mix,his size and good throwing ,has Breathitt Co 5-0,having played 3 yrs for one of best QB/Head coach Mike Holcomb helps a lot also,also the young man from Clay county even tho he isnt a senior is real deal......Go Bobcats....

From what i have heard is that 2 kids from Breathitt that left and one from owlsley are all ineligible for this coming season,and are sitting out at their school teams thats the talk...

Breathitt Co. Mike Holcomb, Bell Co. Dudley Hilton ,Higgins Fern Creek are just a few ...Lot more deserving dont you think at this point in season....

Really what it was was 4th down mistakes by Breathitt Co. Bobcats,3 -15 yarders for late hits,and bad snaps is how Cawood gets in This game,it was salted away untill then,but they(Cawood) never quit and its was a credit to their coaching staff,Bobcats will see them in second round of play-offs,will be a differant game wait and see...Go Bobcats....

Breathitt Co. Bobcats has had some really good Qb's in the 90's Starting with Waylon Chapman,Kyle Moore,Alan Sperry, Justin Haddix and Jacab Hundley these are some of the best thats called signals for coach Mike Holcomb and the BOBCAT's it would be hard to pick just one they all have things they done differant and (3) have won state Championships in 2-A (Chapman '95,Moore '96 and Haddix in '02) and i do think they will be more to come..Colby Fugate has had 3 yrs under Holcomb and is well on his way to making the List with these others....Go Bobcats...

Well Ben Alex is a Great Young Man and needed some time to think about football,and has choosen to come back and play for the Bobcats. He may not help much this year(but he will just wait and see) He is only a 10th grader and started as freshman, so he is, and will be big help on a young team. He should be great on the defensive side of ball, either at linebacker or maybe on D-line. He's quick and strong,so glad he came back to help our team win and he will be a big factor i do believe... Go Bobcats...

I think so too Coach Hilton and the Bobcats are doing well and i have stated the same,I do believe that Bell Co. is #1 team in 4-A not only the mountians.... Go John Dudley Hilton and Bobcats...

Was a good win for the Breathitt Bobcats on road and a district game,most teams are not use to seeing the Wing Tee as played by Estill Co. if it works it can really hurt ya,but Coach Chapman and his defense was ready for it tonite,Huston Noble,Ryan Allen,and Chris Spicer had great game on defense,and The Fugate Men(Colby And Channing) did the offense Proud,Good to see Wess Epperson with a TD catch ,Coach Holcomb had to enjoy this win,,Estill Co.got off to a good start running the ball and seem to run into a good defensive team wanting to make some plays,again good District win for the Breathitt Bobcats... Go Bobcats......

Belfry should win this game,and I think they will... Only team I see keeping them from winning state is Breathitt Co. and they are going to have to improve every week to play with Belfry. I think ever who goes and wins state in 3 A has to go through Belfry to do it.... Pirates are as good a team as you will see in 3 A...... Go Bobcats....

Defense is the one thing that worried me about the Breathitt Co. Bobcats, But they have came along very well, Coach John Chapman has got the most out of his players,with the addition of Dusty Allen and Dakota Ritchie who has proven very helpful and the young core at defensive backs Channing Fugate and Jade Haddix and should be helpful on offense also,you can watch these young men just get better and better each game.... C. Fugate is one of the strongest runner on the team,and can catch the ball and is a weapon for Coach Holcomb offense....Bobcats should be the better team i look for it to be a close game in 1st half and The Bobcats pull away late in Game.....Go Bobcats.....:thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :ylsuper:

I really think it Bell Bobcats Year to me they are best team in Mountains,Tom and his young men are tough as nails ,but not when it come to Dudley and Bobcats on log mountian this year,Bell win's......Wish i could watch this one should be game of week in Mountains...dont you think.....

How do the Bobcat fair against The Engineers should be a good game,as Bobcats roll into Estill Co.:thumb: :banana: :banana: :banana: Breathitt wins this one going away....

this could be another great ball game,but i do believe P'burg Blackcats wins this one...for sure......
