  2. I think Crestwood is an Oldham Co HS man to the core.
  3. IF Hatcher gets the job it will be interesting to see how the Perry Central fan base accepts Hatcher's deliberate style of play. His team only averaged 49 points a game this year. Most years they average in the 50s. My guess is they will accept this style as long as they are going to the Sweet 16 regularly. But if not...................
  4. See article below. http://www.dailyindependent.com/homepage/local_story_114003026.html
  5. Just think if Haddix had of been eligible Hicks would have had to pull his starters in the earlier in the first quarter to keep Oldham Co from being embarrassed in Rupp. I would have thought Crestwood would be huge SC fans after the compassion Hicks showed Forest. LOL.
  6. My post above only included the last 10 years. I didn't have access to the won/loss records beyond the 97/98 season.

  8. Haddix was not a 5th year senior. He repeated 8th grade, was ruled ineligible his senior year in HS because he repeated 8th grade. He was only in HS 4 years. He went out of state and played prep school after he was ruled ineligible by the KSHAA, not as you say "to get around the rules".
  9. I would guess about the time would take the ink to dry on the contract.
  10. Why do we always talk about Scott Co when talking of large high schools? There are several larger schools in Kentucky.
  11. According to the kentuckypreps staff article Owens was a senior in 2006. http://kentuckypreps.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=520779
  12. There was noone by the name of Owens on the PLD varsity or JV roster. http://www.pld.fcps.net/teams/boysbasketball/varsity_roster.htm
  13. Have you looked at the 11th region for next year? Except for Walls, Warren and Jones all the best players will be back next year. It will be an accomplishment for Mackey to get back to Rupp. SC will be as good as any team in the state but so will Bryan Station, Lexington Catholic, & Henry Clay. Tates Creek and Madison Central will also be top 10 or top 15 teams next year.
  14. Its interesting to look back at which seniors were ranked the highest this year in preseason. The rankings were by the state's head coaches. It looks like for the most part the coaches did an OK job. A few moved up and a few moved down. 1. Pettigrew- E'town 2. Proffitt- South Laurel 3. Brooks- Doss 4. Walls- Scott Co 5. Beckham- Ballard 6. Anderson- Warren Central 7. Coleman- J'town 8. Knowles- Clark Co 9. VanHoose- Russell 10. Beaumont- Male 11. Clemons- Ohio Co 12. Frailex- Caldwell Co 13. Daniel- Rowan Co 14. Anderson- Doss 15. Benock- Meade Co 16. Hammonds- South Laurel 17. Hill- Holmes
  15. http://www.zoominfo.com/people/Griesser_Keith_188880155.aspx I don't think he will back out on Montgomery County. I know I am going to get beat up on here for the following statement but in the eyes of most coaches the Mongomery County High School head job is a better job than the head job at Lambuth. For one thing the pay is very low at most NAIA schools (I'm not sure about Lambuth), much lower than public high schools. Another factor is while good high school programs play in front of 1000's of fans, NAIA schools mostly play in front of small empty gyms. One good reason for a young up and comer to take a big pay cut for a NAIA job is it would be easier to move into a D1 job from NAIA than from high school. I think in the casual fan's opinion the small college jobs are better but to the career coaches most would rather have a good high school job. Now when you get to the state supported schools like NKU or Morehead its a different story, the pay is better at these schools.
  16. Does the Scott Co boosters club still put a red, white, and blue Scott Co Cardinal basketball in the crib of every baby born at the Georgetown Hospital? lol
  17. Congratulations to Mason Co. I hope you have a great time in Hawaii. Its will be a once in a lifetime chance for most kids.
  18. I think Ballard's coach's name is Chris Renner.
  19. For GCHS's sake, I hope they get a nice "relaxed" coach.
  20. Humphrey and several others thought it was humorous early in the year when Clark Co beat South Laurel and the news media called it an upset.
  21. Himphrey did a heck of a job. He is one of the state's best young coaches.
  22. Hicks won both awards. The LCJ award was just announced this morning. Below is the link. http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070420/SPORTS05/704200536/1031
