Word is that Coach Holland called meeting with his players and coaches to let them know that he will not be returning as coach next year due to unresolved conflicts. There have been several names mentioned to replace coach Holland, but will be hard to find someone that can accomplish what this man has done at Perry Central. In his 15 years, they have went to 10 regional finals winning 7 of them! Coach Holland is a class act and they are losing a great person as well as a coach.

 

Possible replacements: Whitaker from Bell, Randy Macoy (x pikeville college coach), Kyle Lively, Kevin Campbell, Neal Feltner, James Hurley, Brian Hall, Dougie Campbell. Looks like a good list of possible candidates, should be interesting to see who lands one of the premier jobs here in eastern Kentucky.

I also heard that due to money constraints, they may want to try and stay in house for the hiring of a coach. If this is the case the only 2 that qualify for that is Kevin Campbell and Neal Feltner. Never know what is going to happen till it actually does. Both Hatcher and Whitaker would be great coaches here too though.

IF Hatcher gets the job it will be interesting to see how the Perry Central fan base accepts Hatcher's deliberate style of play. His team only averaged 49 points a game this year. Most years they average in the 50s. My guess is they will accept this style as long as they are going to the Sweet 16 regularly. But if not...................

I think you are right rojas4 it will hurt the fan base. PCC was already going to the sweet sixteen on a regular basis. I would like to see Campbell get it he has earned his chance. But it sure will be weird seeing the BIG MAN in Blue and Gold

Hatch is from Graves, easy top 10 coach in the state, over 500 wins if I am thinking correctly, more than 5 trips to Rupp, style might not be flashy but WINS flashy enough!:thumb:

The job wouldn't have to be posted. You don't have to post the additional duty positions. They could hire a teacher into a position that is already posted.

Agreed, if hiring within and offered to qualified staff, before Classified per KRS Statue 160.380(2). It's already being posted, on the KEPS site (Kentucky Education Placement Services). Must also comply, with ByLaw 27.

He has 5 trips with Graves and 4 trips with Marshall. PLus he won a girl's regional at Graves when he coached both teams.

 

So a total of 10 regional titles and 2 Final Four appearances.
