  1. I don't think the tax payers of my community provided me with money to purchase the tickets from a scalper/coach.
  2. When they played head to head, Walls was much much better. Walls also played every game with no suspensions or disciplinary problems.
  3. This time last year Profitt was considered the front runner for Mr. Basketball. You never know what next year will bring.
  4. OK, Lets say the school pays the expenses of the Science teachers to go to the national science fair. For comparison sakes, lets say there is a $10 admission fee to the science fair and the school has purchased the tickets for the science teachers. Would it be OK for the science teachers to sell the tickets to the national science fair and pocket the money?
  5. How has medium sized E'town, Tilghman, Lex Cath, and Mason Co outdone all those huge schools over 1700 kids. Maybe size isn't the most important factor. Nice point Mcpapa. However, I think to be mathmatically correct you would need to go back and see what the student body size was when each of the S16 wins occurred. For example Lex Cath and Scott Co were hundreds of students smaller in the late 90s when many of the wins occurred.
  6. But a great coach can come in and BUILD a heck of a chicken salad sandwich in a couple or three years.
  7. Mason Co 10 year Sweet 16 record 9-3 2002-Mason Co 93- Butler 66 Paducah Tilghman 64- Mason Co 51 2003-Mason Co 59- St Henry 57 Mason Co 63- Oldham Co 50 Mason Co 75- Hopkinsville 63 Mason Co 86- Ballard 65 2004-Mason Co 71- Wayne Co 57 Mason Co 66- Trinity 59 (3OT) Mason Co 84- Scott Co 78 (OT) Warren Central 66- Mason Co 56 2006-Mason Co 62- Warren Central 59 Apollo 48- Mason Co 36
  8. More than his second great team. Hicks has went to 5 final fours and three championship games in the last 10 years.
  9. From what I usderstand it will be a short wait. That's unfortunant. I think Whitaker has done a good job.
  10. Very well could be. One advantage for Crawford is that this year's sophomore class is not as strong or deep as this years senior or junior class. Good luck to Josh. Corbin should be the 13th region favorite next year and the year after. He could showcase his talents in Rupp.
  11. Another one is: There is never a situation where a lose is better than a win.
  12. Of the top 10 players in the 11th this year, about 8 of them were juniors.
  13. Some of Hicks basketball philophies are: * Basketball is meant to be played 84 feet, baseline to baseline, not half court. Kids enjoy playing this style and will play harder. * Man to man developes players. Zone defenses teach kids to take breaks on defense. * Xs and 0s and strategy is over-rated. Individual day to day player development is the key to program building and long-term winning. * Repetition is the key to improvement. His players do the same ball handling and shooting drills each day that the 6th graders in the system do each day. * Winning coaching is 1% game coaching and 99% practice coaching. * Never blame an opposing coach for running the score up on you. If the score gets ran up on you, its your fault. * Never intentionally run the score up on anyone. It will come back to haunt you. If your reserves run it up that's OK.
  14. If you are talking about Forest you may have a point. He said his Oldham Co program is better than Scott County's program.
  15. This would make Corbin the cradle of coaches.
  16. Player for player this team may not be the best on paper but no other team ever has accomplished so much. They played 16 against the top 20 teams in Kentucky, 11 of these games were against top 10 games, but still went undefeated in Kentucky. This team beat the state champion from Nevada, who had a top 10 player in the country, the best team from Baltimore, and the state champion and then #1 ranked team from West Virginia. I think this team earned the right on the court to called the all time best, they accomplished the most.
  17. I don't know what CCHS has coming back, but I would never count out a team coached by Listerman.
  18. My Top 12 1. Scott County 2. Ballard 3. Warren Central 4. Holmes 6. Ballard 2nd five 7. South Laurel 9. Fairdale 10. Scott County 2nd 5 11. GRC 12. Christian Co
  19. 1. Hicks 2. Riley 3. Listerman 4. Renner 5. Woods 6. Mabrey 7. Humpfrey 8. Wright 9. Ligon 10. Covington 11. John D. Wilson
  20. You have to understand the three games I had seen GRC play were at North Laurel, at Scott Co, and at Lex Cath. Not the best games for GRC. It seems GRC could play very very well at times or very very poorly at other times.
  21. After seeing both Mason County and Clark County both play, I would have never thought in a million years Clark County would beat Mason County THIS YEAR, especially not at the Fieldhouse.
  22. Most schools buy tickets for their coaches.
