Williamstown @ Simon Kenton Dec 16th
SK by 10. Although I wouldn't mind seeing the all 'a' school pulling it out.

Gallatin Co. 64 Henry co. 41
Every year Gallatin Co. has a player that gets labeled "OVERRATED". This year it is Zac's turn. A good hard nosed player that any coach in the region would love to have. Team play will make a player seem "OVERRATED" at times.

Walton-Verona @ Gallatin Predictions 12/09
I'll take Gallatin by 10. I think it will stay close throughout, but Jones and Maddux will be too much for Walton.

Anderson Co. 66 Gallatin Co. 50
I didn't expect the score to be this bad. Any recap?

Gallatin Co. 43 Walton Verona 39
Yes, after missing the Trimble game she played and looked to be close to full speed.

Gallatin Co. 43 Walton Verona 39
The game was called better than I thought possible when I saw who the officials were. Only one call was questioned by the coaches and that resulted in a " T ".

Gallatin Co. 57 Simon Kenton 55
Congrats to the Cats. Just how I figured the game would end up, close and to the end. This is a good win away from home. Who played well from both teams?

Simon Kenton vs Gallatin Co.
These two schools will battle, both are very scrappy. I'll take Gallatin in a close one that goes to the end. Wish I could make it, should be fun to watch.

Best Players in Class A.
Has Shelby Valley been in 2a the past few years, because I dont recall them being class a the past few years.

Best Players in Class A.
100% agree... Gallatin wont be as good as the past few years but always a sleeper. I've seen maddux play and hes the real deal...

Best Players in Class A.
From the 8th region... Maddux/Jones @ Gallatin Gamble/Shelton @ Owen Yager @ Carroll Sorry if I missed some, I know Trimble has a few, and Carroll has more but these are the names I remembered from the 8th.

What about the Gallatin vs. Simon Kenton game.

8th Region Pre-season picks
Penny is the real deal, and I am not taking anything away from him. But last year when I saw the match up between him(Penny) and Maddox, it seemed that he was not very good outside the 10-15 foot range. While I saw Maddox was very good all over the floor.

8th Region Pre-season picks
I know Trent Maddux for Gallatin County is the real deal. I watched him in last years region win over Anderson Co. and I thought he looked better than C.J. Penny.

Bracken County/Gallatin County
Was not there but heard Gallatin won 48 - 8

Gallatin Co 2008/2009
I should have said 2 or 3 upperclassmen (who happen to be very good players). I know that they have some good players coming up but they won't be the senior led team that they have been the last two years. No I have not seen them play this summer and if they are the best team in the Class A Region, or even the district starting the season I will not only be very happy but I will be surprised. All four ahead of them NO but being able to compete with them YES.

Gallatin Co 2008/2009
Gallatin has lost 5 seniors 2 year in a row, which is unheard of for them. They have a good team with two or maybe 3 very good players returning. They will contend for the Class A and the conference but won't be the top pick for either. Owen. Carroll. Trimble. and W. V. will all have teams as good or better. Going to be a fun (towatch) year.

Carroll Co Coach?
Who is it?????? Heard it was either Yager or Mike Stewart but not for sure.

8th Region 2008/2009
That was my opinion also, before last seasons regional tournament. It really doesn't matter which one is #1. The eighth will again belong to the bigger schools and the all "A" eighth is up for grabs.
-
8th Region 2008/2009
The 8th will be up for grabs just like last year and CJ is one of the better players in the region, unstopable under the basket but if I was picking a player to start a team I'ld take Maddox out of Gallatin. Not sure if will have the supporting cast to make a run at the region but the kid has the whole package inside and out.

All A Classic contenders ... 2009
I had not heard of Carlton not being a member of the Wildcats. This will hurt the Cats, he was a big factor in the Region last year.
-
All A Classic contenders ... 2009
I agree with you on both Gallatin and Owen County. With the re-addition of Owen County, that makes the 8th region all a more interesting. Gallatin has three returning starters still in Carlton, Jones, and a pretty good player in Maddox. I know Owen has Shelton, and Gamble. Those are the two that stood out in my mind.
