Sorry for having an opinion. I have seen Holmes play once this year, and that was tonight. They looked awful compared to what I was expecting.

Boone beat Holmes at every phase of the game, not just in the halfcourt. They didn't slow the ball down until the 4th quarter. Holmes had trouble with the press Boone threw at them late in the second half. I actually thought Boone looked good the few times they were in transition. Pittman was having problems with his left wrist. Did you not see that? He had the Boone trainer tape it and was holding it the entire second half. Also, Boone can for sure beat Holmes on a neutral court.

First time I have seen Holmes all year. Very unimpressed. Not what I was expecting at all. I am sure Holmes played bad but I just don't think they are as great as many want to believe. Outside of Pittman, I saw nothing special out that on the court. Does Holmes even have an offense? McFarland played really well. I think he ended up with 18. Both teams were horrible from the free throw line, lot of turnovers and outside of the first 2 minutes no outside game from either team.

Original Rook and myself will be there tonight. Hoping to see a quality game.

I am not sure. Maybe he did, but Dixie was just much smaller in the front court compared to Ryle.

They started playing teams with winning records. Over the last 5 years, Ryle has gone to small Christmas tournaments and got most of their wins that way. A big school like Ryle needs to be playing in bigger tournaments, but they schedule soft around Christmas time and get some wins.

The game was close throughout. Ryle started to take over with about 6 minutes left in the game. Dixie was just too small in the paint to handle the bigs for Ryle. Neither team really impressed me, though. Dixie didn't have a player over 6'3" , that was the difference.

Just makes me think that A LOT more players were using steroids. Not surprised, though.

I would like to see Gonzaga, Memphis and Xavier get some deal together where they rotate playing each other. 2009-2010 Gonzaga @ Xavier 2010-2011 Memphis @ Gonzaga 2011-2012 Xavier @ Memphis ...or something like that.

I have a couple, but never really thought about collecting them. Pretty neat idea, though. :thumb:

That is definitely a possibility. However, a source that was at the game last night told me that the Ryle PG looked completely lost out there. Seems as if Mullins has been willing to stick with Ahern even if he struggles at times.

Coaching has been an issue for over a decade now. Until the school wants to put the basketball program equal to the football program this will continue to be the case. It is a shame to see such great teams at Gray Middle School come to Ryle and not produce. The 2001-2002/02-3 team were solid because they played AAU together.

The tempo has been an issue for 10 years at Ryle now. Nate and Mullins both wanted to play a slow game and try to win by playing solid defense. The toughness on the defensive end has been a quality at Ryle since the 2001-2002 season. However, they have always been offensively challenged because of the coaching staff. There are too many solid athletes at that school to only be scoring 30 points against a team like Boone. A Ryle team that is challenged on offense is nothing new. Heck, look at Doellman's junior and senior year scoring average and try to tell me he wasn't good enough to average more than 17 as a junior and 21 as a senior.

I am a Ryle alum, but 30 points? Really? Against your rival? :lol:

L.A. has to feel confidnet after tonights win. Kobe plays awful at times, bad free throw shooting all around and still come out with a W. Fun game to watch!
