  1. Ryle and Cov Cath have dominated NKY golf for years. This year will be no exception.
  2. I dont know the reasons, but I don't think that needs to be discussed on here. He was at Ryle, moved to Florida and came back. Period.
  3. Haven't really followed high school football much this year, but Conner ahead of Boone and Ryle? Wouldn't have thought that.
  4. Good to hear Jordy is at Ryle. Great Kid! :thumb:
  5. Ryle will be the best in NKY. Will be interesting to see how they do in the statewide tournaments. If Erweline is at Ryle and plays I would say they could easily be the favorite to win State. Ill talk around and see if I can find Jordys status.
  6. Ryle is very solid this year. I believe they should compete for a top 5 finish in state. Cody Martin is a big time player and will likely go major D-1. They have a few other good players. Ryle has made the state tournament six years in a row, and this should be their best team. If Jordy Erweline is back at Ryle and playing, Ryle likely could be the favorite to win State. I have heard Jordy returned back to the NKY area for this school year, dont know if he is playing at Ryle though.
  7. Your way off with here FRM. In fact you really have no clue. Ferguson graduated Ryle in 2004 two years previous to the death of Randy Cooper. Therefore, there was no new prinicpal there until two years after the Ferguson deal. You need to get your stuff straight in a hurry it sounds like. And lets be honest, the adminstration at Ryle will always have football number 1. Randy Cooper told parents that Nate would be the coach as long as he wanted because he was a good Chemistry teacher. The basketball program will never be held to the same standard as the football program. How many different football coaches went through Ryle compared to basketball coaches in the last 10 years? The summer before Ryle won the Region Championship in 2002 Nate turned his letter of resignation in and told Cooper that he was not the right person for the job. Cooper talked him into staying, and fortunately Doellman and Feagan led the Raiders to the 9th region crown.
  8. Trame would not be the right guy for this job, or any job for that matter. He knows defense and that is it. Its not just the parents and adminstration he can't get along with, its the players as well. There are numerous stories I could explain to you but can't on here. It is certainly in the best interest of Cooper that Terry is not a canidate for the job.
  9. Congrats to both teams. I really enjoyed watching this Holmes team. Holmes just looekd a step slower tonight.
  10. I haven't read the entire thread, but will there be a BGP gathering at the state tournament this year? I am planning on heading down Friday and staying for the finals.
  11. Ryle 2002. Coach Hicks is an awesome coach and an even better guy. Too bad he got out of Ryle before coming the Varsity coach there. :irked:
  12. Ryle did beat St. Henry @ St. Henry without Maley. I'll take the Raiders by a handful.
  13. Your right I make no sense, just because you disagree with me. Ryle has been to two region championships in their history. 1-1. As Habib said, take the best player off of any team and they wouldnt be great.
  14. St. Henry beat Ryle that year in Districts. Doellman played 11 minutes that game and had 5 fouls. Had to go to the hospital and receive 13 stiches and went through 3 different jerseys. Earlier in the year Doellman hung about 35 on St. Henry and they knew the only way to stop him was to play physical/dirty. Ross Czarnik hit Doellman in the nose after a play and the ref's never saw it. It was a very, very dirty game. However, St. Henry was the best team that year. :madman:  The Cov Cath team that lost to Ryle in the region championship certainly thought they were GREAT. The parents had booked their rooms in Lexington prior to the region championship game!!!
  15. Thanks for proving my post correct. 1. Ryle has the most recent 9th region Championship. 2. Highlands would not have made the Region tournament 10 years in a row if they were in the 33rd. :thumb:
  16. Who has the most RECENT 9th region Championship? :sssh: And it's not the kids that were quitting becuase of bad attitudes, it was the previous coaching staff. If Highlands played in the 33rd district theres no way they would have made the region tournament 10 years in a row.
  17. Its a rule. I wouldn't like referees to call a foul on me, but they are going to.
  18. :thumb: Also take into account that 2 teams move on to the regional tournament. Seeding is a very big deal in this district.
  19. I know a few years ago Warren Central and Ryle had a couple heated games. Wish they could have kept playing. Of course Ryle regressed talent wise and Warren Central went on to win a championship. As for Ryle, I would say Boone County is their biggest rivarly in basketball.
  20. You use JV to get your freshman and sophomores ready for varsity. IMO.
