Typical 9th Region game. Slow pace with deliberate offenses.

Went to see a basketball game between two teams tonight, but one team I think forgot that they were playing basketball. Just wondering if the game plan for Ryle was really to have the whole team foul out? Believe me when I say that the men in stripes, could have called even more fouls on Ryle if they had so desired. Really, I think at one point Ryle had four players on the floor with four fouls and had two players foul out. Ryle has a tough physical team but gee you got to keep your players on the floor to win close games....

CovCath for their part came from behind to win a close game on the road, but again didn't play anywhere near as good as they did against LexCath or Mason County....but a win is a win.....

TOG - do you have a link to the stats?

Ryle has a tough physical team

You are about as classy as the Coach Listerman. The officiating was horrible. The calls on Ryle may have been fouls, but Cov. Cath was fouling Ryle just as much. Listerman is able to run out on the floor, go to the scorers table, and curse at Refs with no consequences. Ryle was playing 5 on 8 tonight.

I went and saw the same game you did but came out with a slightly different perspective. It was a physical game and pardon me but CovCath also got away with a few. I think everyone found out tonight that there may be at the end of the season a sleeper team in the 9th. CovCath is maybe a small notch better than Ryle, only because they know how to close. They have no better athletes and if at the beginning of the 4th Qtr Ryle takes the ball inside to Maley more often they win the game. CovCath had no answer for him down low. Once again Ryle has a problem closing games out (they were winning again after 3 qtrs) which is something a team can learn as a season goes along. If they don't get that figured out they will continue to lose a lot of close games. Congrats though to CovCath on the road win.

I loved the physical play down low. I really liked seeing a soph knock a sr around down on the post. Cov Cath's 40 was doing his best to try push Ryle's 35 around.

Who's #23 for Ryle? If he can play with composure, he seems like he can be a solid player.

Saw some Holmes and Holy Cross shirts in the crowd tonight...

Thank you truly for the compliment, and I really do mean that. To be compared to Coach Listerman is without a doubt one of the nicest things any one has ever said about me.... Really thank you.....

Extremely well stated. I have no idea where The old guy is coming from. Totally off base analysis of a fine h.s. basketball game. Both teams play hard-nosed defense. My only question: Where was the blowout?? Ryle actually controlled a majority of the game and will be fine as they learn to finish. Congrats to CovCath on a hard fought win.

Covcath seems to always get away with some calls...thats why they have such a great record

CC is well-coached - tribute to Listerman, but Listerman's antics definitely influence calls in their favor. Personally, I do not like his unsportsmanlike behavior, nor the unsportsmanlike behavior so many coaches use just to try to influence the outcome (I would send my girls to their rooms for acting in such a childish way) such as stepping out onto the floor and out of the box to argue during tight games. He certainly deserved at least one T tonight. The refs just seem to give him a pass. However, Ryle had every chance to win the game and did not finish. Credit the CovCath players for coming from behind.

Mike L. works the officials extremely well. Are you accusing the officials of playing favorites and of giving him calls?

The bold did not happen. I wasn't at the game and I can tell you THAT did not happen. You may not like him (and obviously no jig by you tonight) and you may not like how he works the officials, but you have no clue what you're talking about when you say he curses officials. It doesn't happen. No official would stand for it. Period.
