Covcath seems to always get away with some calls...thats why they have such a great record

Always did, always will.

Always did, always will.

Of course, because we all know that all of the ex-Northern Kentuckians officiating grew up loving the colonels. ;)

After reviewing the predictions, looks like there are a lot of SHOCKED people in Park Hills today. I mean, when you have to come from behind to squeek by a "joke of a program", they sure have to be doubting their own program.

The refrees were bad on both sides of the ball. You must be crazy if you think Cov Cath got all the calls.

Apparently a lot of folks think so.

The Raiders were never in the bonus and had to deal with as much contact as they gave. I know that the officials are biased to Cov. Cath. I've been around the 9th region a long time and I don't think I've ever seen a ref control Listerman like he should be. I make it no secret, I can't stand Cov. Cath and Listerman is the main reason why.

Good ball game. Biggest difference in game is the free throw situation. Ryle is struggling to make free throws. They were probably under 50% for the game and quite possibly could be under 50% for the YEAR. This makes it hard to win close games, therefore they are 1-4.

Officiating was fair both ways, that is to say there were missed calls on both sides. It definitely was not the difference in the game. The craziest one is when Maley helps off his man and skies to block a shot at it's highest point (almost could have been called a goaltend on a 12 foot jumper) and AFTER blocking the shot, he and the shooter collided on the GROUND and they called the foul on the shot!

The Raiders had two wide open threes by Ahern and Porter (whose rolled around the rim and then out) in the last 3 minutes that had they gone in, might have propelled them to victory.

Anyway, the Raiders have a big upside and if they continue to work hard and play together, they could be factor late in the year.

I thought Cov Cath looked very solid. They are will coached and have the confidence to win close games. Coach Listeman does a good job with them. But if Ryle is the 8-10th ranked team in the region, there is not a lot of difference from top to bottom. It should make for an exciting year as always!

You got to be kidding if you think the refrees are biased with Cov Cath. Thats not a good reason to not like Cov Cath.

Agreed. Looks like a strong game from Ryle though, to keep it close! Must have been a good game!

So the question begs to be asked, how do you know? Did you ask the men in stripes after the game if they all love Coach L and CovCath so much that they will do anything to let CovCath win? Do only the basketball officials love CovCath, what about the football or baseball officials? And finally how long is a long time? Do you remember Mote and Hep from CovCath, a player by the name of Tieman, or maybe Rasso? Just wondering how long, is a long time?

Travis Rasso of Boone, Jeff Hudgens of Conner, Pete Mailey from Ryle, those names ring a bell?

This is arguably the most talented team at Ryle since the Doellman era. For 5-6 years the Ryle program was looking for this team to make a run at a region championship. On the other hand, this seems to be one of Cov Caths down years and the Colonels still pulled out the victory. So I dont think Cov Cath is really, doubting their program.
