Juniors playing J.V.
I have mixed feelings about this. If a Junior is playing JV and not contributing much on the Varsity level, Im not to fond of it. Lets say a Junior is playing alot of minutes in the JV game and not seeing anytime in the varsity game, he is, IMO, taking away minutes from a younger kid that could be gaining experience. If there is alot of senior talent on the team, then I could see the point. But if sophomores and other juniors are better then why play the junior player?

Playing with his older brother for many years, I could certainly see where you are coming from.

The underlining factor you speak of may just be Maley... :sssh:

Ryle 48 St. Henry 46 (OT)
Yes. His senior year Ryle made it to the Region Championship and lost to Holmes.

Well, being that Maley is a senior already, he has a short time to do alot to become a true leader on that team.

Ryle 48 St. Henry 46 (OT)
As a few have already stated the officiating was awful on both ends. I now realize why it is so easy to receive your license in northern kentucky. The 3 sophomores for Ryle really looked good last night. Mitch played very well, especially down the stretch. If he can work on his foot speed over the summer he could be real tough next year. I was very impressed with Nichols, played very good defense, in fact had 5 or 6 blocks, but he does a nice job of staying out of foul trouble and keeping his hands straight up. Coleman looked solid as well. Needs to work on putting the ball on the floor but looked like he had a nice stroke. As The Great Game stated Ryle seemed to run their offense 15-20 feet from the basket. I do not think its the offensive sets they are running I think its more of Ahern not being able to penetrate to the basket. He is just not quick enough to beat people off the dribble. He had numerous oppurtunties to drive and kick the ball to the wing he just couldnt create, and when he did he tried to take the ball all the way to the basket. To begin overtime Ahern had 3 turnovers in the first 2 minutes of the period. He seems to play afraid sometimes. IMO. On a side note, Dave Faust, IMO is the best coach in the 9th region year in and year out.

Ryle wins at St. Henry tonight in Overtime. Maley did not play. St. Henry hit a 3 at the end of regulation to force overtime and had another great look at the end of overtime to win, but could not connect.

What are you trying to imply here? Like Habib said, I too would appreciate you to elaborate here.

DD, you have emabarrsed the Ryle football program before with your antics, please dont do it to the basketball team. Not all Ryle fans have your views.

I have mixed feelings about Coach Listerman, both good and bad. That is not the topic of this thread so I will not go any further.

This is arguably the most talented team at Ryle since the Doellman era. For 5-6 years the Ryle program was looking for this team to make a run at a region championship. On the other hand, this seems to be one of Cov Caths down years and the Colonels still pulled out the victory. So I dont think Cov Cath is really, doubting their program.

Good to see Ryle play CovCath close. Now the Raiders have to finish these games.

CovCath vs. Ryle predictions
I think you would be hard to find many high school players that shoot 40 % from behind the arc by the end of the season. 30%-35% is very good for a high schooler to be shooting. I plan on going to the game tonight, this will be my first Ryle game in a few years.

Top Student Sections??
Cov Cath year in and year out.

Boone 58 Ryle 47
:thumb: There is certainly plenty of talent that comes through Ryle, from Gray. Each year Gray is one of the better middle school teams in the area. Ryle will always be a football school, however. Which seems to hurt the basketball program.

Rebels got to make up from a few of those loses earlier this decade! (I have no clue where the record stands!)

I havent been to any Ryle games since Mullins took over but does Ryle still play the same brand of basketball as they did when Neime was there? It seems like they still struggle to score 60 points per game.

Three title games in a row...
I think you missed the point that he said who has done it with 3 different QB's. I dont know if you have noticed this or not, but there are other schools besides Trinity that have good football programs in the state of KY.

I too would like to hear more about this situation. ROCKPRIDE, did you hear anything about this?

Highlands/Lincoln County Updates
This is exactly why a few friends and I didnt go to the game tonight.

Oldham County 51 v. Ryle 47
Did Ahern not have a very good game? 6 points in the final quarter. Was Neime on the sidelines telling the kids to hold the ball, and go into 4 corners stall for the final 8 minutes?

Boone Co. Rushing Attack.... How many yards will they get on the Trinity D?
If Boone rushes the ball for over 300 yards wouldnt it be hard for Trinity to name the score, because obviously, Trinity wouldnt have the ball that much. Im not saying Trinity cant name the score but they cant name the score if Boone controls the ball. Your post isn't very valid, is it?

Boone County at Trinity
Read my post and bold where I said anything about talent not meaning anything. Please, do that for me.

Boone County at Trinity
I have thought about that many times. I think the game would be MUCH MUCH more competitive but I think Trinity would still be victorious. Coaching and the fundamentals that Trinity posses, year in and year out is the difference between the two.
