  1. Stats don't always really tell the story. The years Boone gave up less points they might of been having longer time of possessions causing the point total to go down. They could of been scoring more points forcing other teams to get out of their normal offense sooner. Other teams could of been down those years. There is also the talent swing. Scoring 1 more point than your opponent wins games. How you go about that could be any number of ways.
  2. My comment wasn't about if it was illegal. If something did take place I'm sure it is illegal. My comment was just to say a ms athlete could be 15. It means he would turn 19 his sr which in some areas is pretty common. Sorry for the confusion.
  3. It's not that uncommon for an 8th grade student to tune 15 during their 8th grade year. In most cases they are allowed to play sports as long as they turn 15 after Aug 1. Have no clue what his age is but just saying he could be 15 or 13 either way
  4. I heard on 1530 that he is now saying the girl contacted after her "death" to say she had to fake her death to get away from drug dealers. I will have to refrain from my normal response because its against bgp rules but come on man
  5. Just for the record emergency response vehicles will create a staging area away from the shooting area and will not approach until tbe building is secure. It is SOP.
  6. He originally was going to Oregon but decided to go elsewhere since they had the other QB coming in
  7. I wasn't knocking it. I was just checking to see if I was seeing it right
  8. Coverdale was influenced by the run and shoot before coming to T. When he coached college and HS ball with Robinson they used some shoot stuff on the backside. Pro style spread is a great way to describe what they do.
  9. That is correct. Leach was brought in and told to install the UK offense exactly like it was at UK. It wasn't until after Leach left that Leach started staying 4 wide almost all the time among other things. Dykes was also the OC in Arizona. I think he went with Leach to TT and then left from there
  10. He runs the Air Raid. He was a qb at valdosta state for Mumme and coached at UK with Leach, Mumme and Franklin. He was also player of the year I think. It's the same offense Mumme, Leach, Franklin, and a ton of others run
  11. I saw information that after this season the high school football state championships in Nebraska can no longer be played at UN because of a new NCAA rule. The rule has to do with it giving colleges hosting the site an unfair recruiting advantage. Has anyone else heard of this rule? If it is a new rule that would mean WKU would no longer be able to host the title game. I have no idea if this rule will apply to basketball too.
  12. Never did it as a player and didn't see teams do it until the past 10 years or so. I honestly think its a trickle up effect from many pewee leagues. Parents get use to seeing it when they're kids are little and players get use to it. The team I coach does it as soon as they realize a player is down. Most of the time this is pretty close to right after the whistle. It tends to signal the other sideline that they have a hurt kid. As soon as an offical stops play for the injury our players come to the numbers and we coach.
  13. HHS use to go under center in goal line situations. They would snap down from a two pt stance to a three pt stance. I don't think you have to under center but you have to have a plan. We threw screens off of jet action or we used our read game. We've also used bringing in the big boys to just smash it like a single wing team
  14. Leach is 2-8 this year but he won in the Big 12 just fine. Dykes might not come to UK because we wouldn't be able to bring Franklin. I think he is pretty happy with his OC and would want to keep him. I also don't think Franklin wants to be a HC again and is happy being an OC.
  15. To some there is a difference between losing by 20 and losing by 40 but either way its a lose. So for example with Ryle being blown out by more shouldn't be a factor. When you know you are going for it every time on 4th it changes how you call plays. It also changes how a defense plays at time.
  16. Some teams do on side kick every time. Just like there are some teams that go for it on fourth down and go for two. Comparing it to college is different for a number if reasons. One the rules are different for kickoffs. Colleges also have guys that can put the ball into the end zone. The quality of player on a college kickoff team is much different.
  17. If you kick it out of bounds they will just back you up and have you rejoice it. It's not a person they are afraid of but a return unit. FC has 4-5 kids on that return team that can take it to the house. KO coverage is one of the least practiced aspects of the game. You can't do it live hardly. There a bunch of factors that go into making a choice like onside kicking every time.

  19. I didn't watch the game so what I know is just from reading stuff here. I don't think the onside kick is what did them in. The mistake in the return game where FC recovered is what hurt. From the sounds of it that was a key part of when FC went on a run.
  20. When are you talking about punting? You can't punt on a kickoff. You can on a free kick after a safety but not on a kickoff
  21. Trinity does have some advantages. 99% of them they have earned. As an all boys school they do not have the restriction of Title IX. I'm not saying this is why they are at the level they are at but it isn't a hurdle they have to deal with. The other advantage is number of coaches. They have more on their freshman staff than many schools have on their whole HS staff. That helps with the development of players. Many schools period do not have the resources to put together and pay a staff that size.
