  1. Images of any kind get really tricky when it comes to the law. To sort of expand on what was said above even you purchase an image be it a piece of art or a photograph and still not have the rights to use that picture yourself. You can hang it up or whatever but that's about where it ends unless you secure the rights to the image itself. They really shouldn't of put her name on the slide. No need for that at all
  2. This going to sound very stupid but does firing a gun automatically make it deadly force? If you aim to shoot the person in the leg and hit the leg does that mean you went to far? I'm going assume if you discharge a weapon it is considered deadly force. Even if the point is to wound the person to the point they cannot flee. In this case it appears as if the guy let rounds go.
  3. I might have this wrong but this is what was told years ago by my brother in law when they lived in Texas. You needed the intruder in your house. You shoot him going out the door and he falls fine. After he is out if the house it's a no go. Now that's been 12 years or so ago so take that as you will.
  4. You know peoe who work in the school system. They don't always make the best choices. Now let me preface this by saying I don't agree with this line of thinking but here is one example of how it could of went down. Lets say the girl was a straight A student. Honors classes and in the top of her class. Volunteered in the community and was active in her church youth group. Model student and all around great person. She goes on spring break and a friend snaps a photo. No big deal. Friend posts it and tags her so it shows up on her page. Word gets around a little about the photo but its not a big deal. The IT guy thinks this is a perfect example of maybe a photo that could give someone the wrong idea about who this girl is. Now I agree there are plenty of options out there to use and I have no idea why you would use a local. It might come out there was another motive behind it. One thing is for sure it drives home the point of social media and in today's age no matter if you're a kid or adult you must be very careful.
  5. Well well. Now that is interesting. So if she did put her settings correctly then she has opened her self up to be used. I think it's sort of funny now considering why the picture was used. Since it was used as a warning for what you put up because if you don't take the correct procautions you just might be fair game.
  6. The school is in violation of using the picture without consent. It was the school's IT guy who did it so not the best choice. Copy Right laws and free use and all that stuff can get really complex real fast. How an image is used and where it came from. Who the image is of and so on. Now I do wonder about a few things. 1) How did whoever get access to the FB page or photo? I know FB has made it easier to hide photos you don't want people to see and at least at one point in time they made it harder to copy/steal those pictures from their pages. 2) Student consent to use their image and likeness. I am sure some one in law will correct me or will at least clarify this but schools acquire student consent to use the student's image. This is done in one of two ways. One where the student and parent must sign a paper or through a type of implied consent where if the paper is not returned and signed then the student is allow the school to use their image. I honestly have never read our districts form on the matter. I do not know if it clearly states how the image is acquired or any of that. Schools have to do this for a number of reasons. Now from the story where they said the school was using the image to imply the student abused alcohol and was promiscuous I think has to hinge on what else was placed with the picture or said during a presentation. If she wants to go done that path then I think she is opening herself up to a line of questioning that she doesn't want to go down.
  7. Isn't that what happened this past year? Scott lost to T at T in the semis? I'll give Scott Co some credit that they hung in there though they couldn't move the ball. NCC I would be my guess for reasons already given. I think T might have a rough time but they find a way to get it done even on "down" years.
  8. Is he recovering from his surgery to remove whatever was lodged in his throat to cause him to choke so bad? I expected him to turn blue and pass out after watching the 4th
  9. On a side not about Mashburn and Howard. It also goes back to the AAU days. I know Weber, Rose and Howard all knew each other from the AAU and camp circuit. In fact during that game Rose and Weber at the least when talking trash to Mashburn were reminding him of those days. The social media stuff is new but the camps/AAU stuff and becoming friends that way is much older than many realize.
  10. The #Igetawaywithmurder got the Roc Boys stuck in my head after reading that and now Hernadez has 99 problems and being a prison (fill in the blank) is going to be one.
  11. He doesn't just shoot you. You now only have one eye. On top of that you were a passenger in his car? So he knows you and shoots you. You have to go to the hospital for that and they aren't going to raise questions or call the police?
  12. Yeah that almost got made. Smith wanted to do Superman for a long time. He also is a pretty decent comic book writer. I don't know if the Superman script stuff with Burton happened before or after Burton and Smith had an issue over a Planet of the Apes thing.
  13. I think when most think of the first Batman movie they think of Burton and not the Adam West movie which was just an expanded tv show made as a movie. Granted I think that is with all the villains on a sub and Batman fighting a shark out of water. Now before all of those there was a Batman serial that I believe was shown before movies or at movie theaters. It was black and white and the villain could turn invisible.
  14. I think in part this is Fox's answer to Elementry and to catch fans of The Following. It looks much better than I expected. I wish they hadn't went with the "Heads Will Roll" tag line since it was used for the Sleepy Hollow movie
  15. The first two Batman movies were done by Tim Burton. In most cases people either love or hate Burton. The last three were done by Nolan who I don't know if he has ever done a bad movie. The Dark Knight with Ledger as the Joker is amazing. No one has ever and I'm not sure anyone will be able to ever top that performance as The Joker. I felt like the movie was almost more about him than Batman. I haven't watched the new superman movie but I know superman is just tough to do. One he is almost has no limit to his power and he doesn't really have any flaws as a person. Those two things make it pretty tough to do a story. It works in the comics for a number of reasons but is a tough one shot sell for a movie
  16. I don't think it's the coaches with the helmet issue but the kids. They don't want them to fit tight like they should or they don't know how to make the chin scrap fit right. Lets not forget that the people that this keeps coming up with are pros. Many do not wear a mouth piece and I would say a number don't have the helmet correct. The difference between helmets now and when some of theses guys played are HUGE.
  17. Well I did find where they scored 55 pts in each of the first two games. The way you described the X game sounds right. I don't know if they scored a TD on O in the Boone game.
  18. Boosters or whoever I think it's a pretty smart thing. Even more so when you think about how close knit that community is.
  19. So Herron was a Sr 93/94 when they lost to Male? You should hear Redman talk about that game.
  20. Organized parties? I've never heard of that before. Honestly not trying to troll but I would love to hear more about those. Sounds like an interesting way to fund raise. It also makes me think of FNL.
  21. Is Herron the same age as Alexander? If so did he play that offset back in the power I that they ran?
  22. Your also assuming all those listed on Dixie's website are paid
  23. I know they didn't score an offensive TD in the X game. I'm pretty sure they didn't in the Boone game. He had two 1000 rushers on that team plus his son. I might be just thinking of two games but I believe it was more than that
  24. I might be remembering this completely wrong so I am hoping someone does. Before the state title game in 93 I thought I remembered that through the playoffs Male's defense and special teams outscored the offense. I think against St X and Boone games combined the offense either never scored or only scored once. Does anyone remember this or have information? I was thinking it was so strange a team was making it through the playoffs with very little to no scoring output by their offense.
  25. Wasn't Alexander a backup or at least not the main TB until the starter got hurt playing dodgeball? And yes Neer the way you remember those teams I think is how everyone remember those teams.
