I think that Rose Hill will be the best team in the region by far talent wise but I do not feel like they can compete with the speed of the 16th. In a world where all teams have a 6'8 and a D-1 point guard, they will be a very competitive team.

I am going to have to change my strategy and go away from my comfort zone a little in our district tournament. I feel like the team we have to play has to be controlled. If we get in a shooting match with this team, we will get beat, so yes to what strike three was saying, most teams will tweak their normal game plans some to give themselves the advantage in the district tournament.

You guys are the most defensive people in the world. I think the tone of this thread was to compliement how well the EC boys play with no recognition, not a lot of size, and a number of other factors against them. They are good that is what we are all saying. Keep up the winning guys.

That is all I am saying guys. Freethrow, well put, those are both programs that push coaches out on the streets like stray cats. The fact is, you have to hire a coach who you know understands the game and can teach the game on a comptetive level. Outside of that, most of winning and losing rests with the guys who have to play the game. Now true, coaches take the wrap for the loss column and actually do at times lose games for their kids. I will tell you that much of winning and losing has to do with how well the program deals with parents,grades,girlfriends,missed practices, egos, different talent levels, etc. People in this day in time are too quick to blame coaches when the kids dont perform up to the expectations of their parents. Sorry it is just true. Take your buddies or pals that you know from Morehead. Did they play, did they reach their expectations as players. How about this one, are kids even supposed to question or claim to understand what is going on around them with the coaching staff? How many times have you heard disgruntled kids say, "coach doesnt know what he's doing?" How rediculous is that. That coach probably forgot more than that kids knows about the game. I just hate to see people bash programs. It makes it hard for the kids to ever completely buy what the coach is selling if in the back of their minds they know that my parents think coach is an idiot. That is all.

Wow a lot of talent out there in the coaches boxes. Great for KY baseball.

What does Montgomery have?

Clemmons and Metz are studs. Clemmons has a heart of a lion. I love the way he plays the game. He reminds me of players that I played with back home, like he always has something to prove. Those are the kind of players that usually do prove themselves. Congrats Cats. Keep up the winning ways. Come on MSU. I am more than likely sititng less than a mile from you right now. Thats close too, now that is out of the way. Judge a coach on how well he does in the district as well as throughout the year, not on how many times he goes to rupp. Rupp is a place very few teams get to go. Some kids just have what it takes to win championships no matter how talented they are. Dont fault a coach on that. And oh by the way, I will suspect that Matt will go to a small mid-major school somewhere in the south. The kid can play the game. His court awareness is on defense is something that I question but his shot more than makes up for his lack of vision.

3 games in 3 days for the Vikings. Does not look good for the home team here.

Not sure a new coach is the answer. It has to be tough to have not one but two sons on a team and oh yeah, a D1 prospect as a son/player. Tough for any coach/parent to handle. Pretty good game I thought. Bath played really well at home. Give Blandon Clemmons a lot of credit.He has played really well lately, 32 tonight. Congrats Blandon, keep up the hard work.

The Lions are playing real well right now. Congrats to Daniel on a huge night, 40 pts is a lot of points in any gym in america.

Montgomery Co. is really good. they moved the ball well last night. As far as the 16th goes. I feel as though the win against Russell was a little bit better game. Good luck to the Indians. Hope they go back to diddle.

This is the best thread I have ever read about officiating. Well put smoke, Tubbycat, and notetaker. I strongly agree with all of your points. Lady bear, just let the kids have the spotlight, keep that in mind. Be fair and let the kids improve, be open minded. If you can do that, you will be great.

Pretty good talents both of them are. Speedy recovery is what he needs to make it back before district. Hope he can bounce back from his injury. Berryman, rehab hard and smart.

The 16th seems to be a three way close run with Russell,Ashland and Elliott. In no particular order. I like the way all of these teams play. The most fun is elliott. The most controlled is Ashland. And IMO the best is Russell. They are a team who could be able to compete at Rupp.

Same where I coach. We have to fund the entire athletic department from girls/boys basketball. That supports baseball,softball,track,soccer g/b. The only money available is the money raised. Its tough when the board of education in most districts does not recognize the value of athletics in school systems. The schools spends thousands talking about cats testing and all these other great programs to get kids in college, the truth is, if they spent just a fraction of that effort and resources into athletics, maybe a few kids will get the opportunity to go to college on athletic scholarship like I did.

Definitely not the top 4 teams in region, in fact, cubster has 3 teams the last in the region, but all three teams are pretty evenly matched talent wise. Should make for good entertainment.

I dont know but I sure do wish him all the best. I know that a lot of work has been put out by the kid to get where he is going. Good luck Matt and all of the other kids in the under rated 16th region. Go out there and show your stuff.

Sutton did it the right way too. Congrats to the coach and the Muskateers. I wish many many wins for that guy.
