District Tournament is approaching and most teams, will have played several times during the season. With the win and advance a must, will teams vary their strategies from the previous games.

What strategies are best to implement during Tournament time:

What are your thoughts and some interesting match-ups, what types of strategies usually prevail across the Districts.

Yes on the all. Depends on the matchups and what your strengths and weaknesses are and what your opponent's strengths and weaknesses are.

Agreed. All boils down to matchups and which style give your team the best chance to win.

I am going to have to change my strategy and go away from my comfort zone a little in our district tournament. I feel like the team we have to play has to be controlled. If we get in a shooting match with this team, we will get beat, so yes to what strike three was saying, most teams will tweak their normal game plans some to give themselves the advantage in the district tournament.

Everyone must have a game plan going in to every game. You have played all season long to try and figure out the best way that your team can play and you should have scouted all year to find out what best works against your opponents. If you have done all your homework, you should be able to come up with a game plan that works best for your team, whether it be run and gun to get the big man from the opposing team tired or take it inside on him to get him in foul trouble. All of these strategies work and everyone definitely changes it up a little bit depending on the types of teams and players they are playing against.

From what I have seen in the past, one change that teams make is in their rotations. Teams that have been playing 8, 9 or 10 players in the regular season will start playing with 6 ,7 or maybe 8 players in the tournament.
