  1. I think that Scott and Campbell County will be a close one. I believe last year Scott won by 3, the year before that Campbell won in a close one.
  2. Scott High versus Dayton has been cancelled tonight 02/22.
  3. "Shelbi Benzinger saved the game for the Scott, making a game-tying 3-pointer as time expired to force overtime, and the Eagles went on to a 65-63 victory over Holmes Friday night. Benzinger finished the game with 18 points. In a back-and-forth game, Scott thrived down low with freshman center Lauren Tibbs, who led all scorers with 21 points and recorded 15 rebounds, marking her 13th double-double this season. Holmes (15-9), ranked No. 6 in the Enquirer Northern Kentucky coaches' poll, was led by senior guard Christina Weaver, who scored 19 points. Scott had lost eight of its previous nine games." Nice win by the Scott High Lady Eagles
  4. How about McLeish from Ryle, Tierney from Notre Dame and Benzinger from Scott.
  5. Boy, I sure wish I had some suggestions for you. But, I have seen it happen recently with the team that I cheer for, on more than one occassion. It is very frustrating to watch on the sidelines as a fan. You really want to support the team and the coach, and then when you see almost all of the starters being pulled, so that the JV team can be put in, you have to shake your head and wonder what the heck is going on.
  6. Kiki Brown is hurt. She got hurt in the Kenton County Classic, and will be out approximately 3 weeks. I believe with an ankle injury.
  7. 24's mom, Grant will bounce back. I definitely agree that they miss Gorby out there. I am sure she misses being out there as well. Definitely a nice win for the Lady Eagles after 4 straight losses, two of which should have been wins.
  8. Shelbi Benzinger scored a game-high 21 points, including five 3-pointers, for Scott. Lauren Tibbs added 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles.
  9. And it is also nice to see some Northern Kentucky girls names in the 10th region stats for this week.
  10. I understand what you are saying. But, if I am not mistaken not too far down in the Enquirer is a real nice story, not just one line, about Katie Allen. Yes, Highlands does deserve to be recognized. But they get alot more attention than some of the other Northern Kentucky teams do.
  11. As a fan of Scott High School basketball, I sure hope that is not the case. He is definitely fun to watch, and he knows how to coach the boys.
  12. I know what teams play each other tonight for the final games of the Kenton County Classic, but I am not sure what times and location the games are being played. Tates Creek vs Bourbon County Scott vs Dixie Simon Kenton vs Mason County Connor vs Highlands - Championship game
  13. Scott was able to keep the game close for about 1 and a half quarters, but once Conner started shooting the 3's, that was the end of that. I believe Conner was 60 percent from the 3 point line. Definitely a very good team. They were fun to watch.
  14. "If the freshman has earned the starting role, start the freshman. As a coach you have to play your best players. This is part of life's leasons". I agree 100 percent with the above statement. You have to play your best players no matter if they are 9th graders or a senior. Just because you are a senior, does not entitle you more playing time than a freshman. I see this all of the time right now for the team that I support.
  15. My opinion is that to be a leader and expect people to respect you, you have to act like a leader. A leader IMO can be anyone. It does not necessarily have to be a senior. There are seniors who do not make good leaders. You have to lead by example.
  16. Not only was it a good team effort, but nice coaching as well for the Lady Camels.
  17. Sorry to hear that 24's mom, but I will definitely keep Candace in my prayers. Sounds like she has a great attitude. Take care and best of luck to Candace for a speedy recovery.
  18. Campbell County 69, Scott 55 Scott (7-9) - Muth 1 0 2, Benzinger 7 5 24, Houseman 0 2 2, Kraft 1 1 3, Brown 2 1 5, Tibbs 7 5 19. Totals: 18 14 55. Campbell County (9-6) - White 1 4 7, Marino 1 4 6, Baker 2 3 9, Hertzenberg 6 0 12, Bowling 4 1 10, Kitchen 6 11 25. Totals: 20 23 69. Scott was winning by 9 starting the third quarter. Another tough loss for the Lady Eagles.
  19. I could not agree with you more. The girls at Beechwood deserve the opportunity to play soccer.
  20. I would love it if Ludlow could pull out a win. Go Lady Panthers. Coach Stamm is doing a great job. Keep up the good work.
  21. I could not agree with that statement more. I do believe that some kids think that just because they are on the team, they should play no matter what.
  22. Yes, the first half was a close game. The half time score was 26-21, but during the third quarter the margin became much larger in favor of Boone. Scott's Tibbs and Brown go into some early foul trouble, which reduced their playing time in the first and second half.
  23. Halftime score: 26-21 Boone County advanced to 12-3 on the season by defeating host Scott. Boone County senior Katie Behrens led all scorers with 21 points. Scott junior guard Shelbi Benzinger scored 12 points to lead her team.
  24. I couldn't agree with you more on that statement. I really thought and I hope that this will be their year. The talent is definitely there.
