I was very impressed by Scott's, Nick Hiller, especially in the second half when he kept Scott within striking range. If he can consistently play a whole game like the way he played in tonights second half, then this kid has the ability to be a all district and quite possibly an all region player. Scott's younger players showed some pretty good potential.

 

I was impressed with SK's Barnes and Dressman's overall games tonight. Dressman was all over the floor and really battles hard down low. Barnes was real aggressive and went to the line quite a bit. He must have made at least 10-12 free throws and I don't think he missed one tonight. I think SK's Maegely needs to be quite a bit more physical and not play soft like he did tonight.

Hiller went on something like a 7 or 9-0 run tonight. Dressman has been getting better and better since he has been getting playing time, even got on the all-tourney team. If he keeps playing like he has Maegely will be in a battle for his starting job.

I don't think Maegley's starting job is in jeopardy with the improved play of Dressman. Josh Brown who was out tonight due to illness might be in for a battle with Dressman for a starting spot.

I know that is why Dressman started, but the Pioneers looked the best they have all year on the boards tonight with Dressman and Robinson in the game. Those two, if they accept their roles could cut heavily into his playing time.

As for other aspects of the game, this was the first time I've seen Scott play and I was actually quite impressed. They were much better than I've been hearing about and they work hard. Carr is still gets into it like he always have. They will be good in a few years but I wouldn't be surprised to see them pull off a few upsets the rest of the way.

SK's achillies this year has been inconsistency and ability to finish. Those are the guys Coach Steiner needs to start and play. I agree with statements about Dressman's play and really liked the way he crashed the boards.

As a fan of Scott High School basketball, I sure hope that is not the case. He is definitely fun to watch, and he knows how to coach the boys.
