Anyone surprised by the good record so far this year? The coach seems to have them playing well. Will this continue when they get into conference play?

I like what I have seen out of them this year. They have the athletes and seemed to be coached well! They press and run and seem to play well as a team....they seem pretty good to me! (IMO)

Lets see how they do when they start playing quality teams.

They will only get better as the season goes on. They have two 8th graders who are making significant contributions. I've seen both of them play in AAU, they are players.

I know what 2 players you are referring to, Moss and Crittenden. Is Moss any relation to the football player, Randy Moss? Just curious. I thought I had heard awhile back that he had a daughter who played basketball in the Boone County school district? She was originally at Heritage Academy.

Congratulations to the Ryle Raiders on the nice start to their season. I do have to agree with those who say that we still need to see them play some quality competition. Getting off to a nice start will no doubt keep the natives happy and off the new coaches back. For whatever reason Ryle isn't always an easy place to coach. Their previous coach was as good a Xs and Os guy that you will find and was always teaching the girls the right way to do things. Unfortunately the schmoozing that comes with the job wasn't his strong suit.

I wish the new coach a great deal of success. That should hopefully keep everyone at Ryle happy.

Those are the two players I am referring to. Both of them are well rounded players. They have speed, size and a good sense for the game. I've seen both of them dominate in AAU. Moss has the best hands of any girl I have seen at her age. I guess she got it from her dad!

After watching or better yet, having to sit through the Ryle girls game vs. Lloyd (sorry it was a UGLY game) prior to the CovCath vs. Ryle game a couple of weeks ago, before I say Ryle has any chance at even getting out of it's district (Boone & Conner) lets see how they do in the second week of January when they play some quality High School teams such as

Jan 18, '08HolmesRyle- 7:30 PM

 

Ryle plays all these teams at Ryle but I would be surprised if they win one of these three game, based on what I saw at the Ryle vs Lloyd game.

They could beat Holmes, but I doubt they could win the other two.

Congrats on the fine year they are having and if the Enquirer takes anymore photos of the McLeish girl I think she is going to need a new scrapbook. : )

Good for Ryle. I hope they have a good season. I watched them play last night, and the McLeish girl did a great job at the point. She had some nice passes, and I believe scored over 20 points against Scott. Moss scored in the double digits as well.

My only two questions is how strong was that 8th grade team these two girls (Moss and Crittenden) came from? And how sad is the coach who lost them to the varsity squad?

Cat Pride24, not sure about Holmes. They are a good team. They have several girls who have the inside and outside game down. Does Ryle have many seniors on the team? I heard they are a fairly young team.
