How much thought went into this artice. Mr. Ernst talks about match-ups this week in girls basketball, which is nice. He talks about a possible 9th regional final match-up between Conner and Boone and how the game Tuesday night could shake up the Northern Kentucky coaches poll. For some reason Mr. Ernst didn't mention the Highlands Lady Birds at all. You know, the team that has beaten Conner twice and Boone County in their only match-up of the year. Mr. Earnst fails to mention that Highland's plays twice this upcoming week. I don't know Mr. Ernst, but if one of your assignments is to write about Northern Kentucky girls basketball then either do a little more research or at least mention when arguably the best team in the 9th region is playing in the upcoming week, which was the purpose of the article. Whether you like Highlands or not, ranking Boone or Conner over them again would be a little shameful.

I understand what you are saying. But, if I am not mistaken not too far down in the Enquirer is a real nice story, not just one line, about Katie Allen. Yes, Highlands does deserve to be recognized. But they get alot more attention than some of the other Northern Kentucky teams do.

HHS deserves to be talked about they have been that good... We did not really talk about HHS girls basketball when they were in there down years a couple years ago

Nice attempted save but to no avail. You get on here and complain that he doesn't talk about the Birds (despite the fact they have no big games this week). You say he needs to do research. On what? He doesn't list EVERY game - only the ones that look appealing. Heck, you should take it as a compliment to the Lady Birds that he doesn't think they will have any good games this week.

 

Your post came off as whining and not as "friendly bannering." I doubt I'm the only one that took it that way. Enjoy the game against Bellevue and let us know how it goes because you KNOW Ryan Ernst is not going to be there to report on it.

You are right about the article, it was very nice. The point of my thread wasn't about the enquirer's performance, but just that I though Mr. Ernst probably should have mentioned that Highlands had a couple of games this week and his implication that the Boone/Conner game was somehow going to set the stage for a 9th region showdown and a shake up in the polls. Perhaps he wrote the article prior to this past weekend, then it would make a little more sense I suppose. The shake up in the polls should occur as a result of Highlands's two victories over Conner and one over Boone. Maybe it's just semantics, but oh well. :thumb:

Amen. Sounds like the Highlands' fans are getting a little hyper about their perceived lack of press. As you say, the article was about matchups this week, not about rankings. I don't think HHS has been lacking for ink this year.
