If I am not mistaken, this coming year is her senior year, so it is just a matter of time. -

Best Freshmen in the 10th Region
shsbballmom replied to Brossart Basketball's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
"Most of the talk has centered around GRC & Mason but Campbell Co has a solid freshmen class. Scott HS had a freshmen guard transfer in who will help on the freshmen level. I have also heard that Scott has a frosh PG who will see some varsity minutes this year." I know who the frosh PG is that you are talking about. But who is the freshman guard transfer in, and where did he come from? -
I read in the Ky post this afternoon that Cheryl Findley is not playing basketball this coming season, because she will be playing volleyball in the winter. With Brasseaux gone because she moved, and now Findley not playing, how will this affect Boone County this coming season? Who will replace Brasseaux and Findley? The paper also said that Sparrow is healing from a fall from her skateboard.

Who is Campbell County losing for this year? Off the top of my head, I can think of 3 juniors coming back, who will definitely make an impact. Kitchen, White and Bowling? I am sure there are others on the team that will make an impact as well. IMO, when girls become sophmores and juniors, sometimes they tend to weed out the other sport or sports, that they are playing, and try to put the focus on one sport, especially if they would want to play that sport in college.

If you were going to pick the starting 5 for Scott. who would it be. The only senior I know of is Jordan Adkins. I would think Nick Hiller and Nikola, but who else, I am not sure? Is EJ Murray a starter. Who would be the post player? Any strong sophomores able to come in and help with the varsity team? With Scott losing so many to graduation who will be playing varsity? Any thoughts?

HS Girls Opening Season
shsbballmom replied to soccerexpertnot's topic in KY Girls Soccer (High School)
I was at the game, and it was a very well played and hard fought match between 2 of the top girls soccer teams in Northern Kentucky. Very enjoyable to watch. Notre Dame's goalie had come out of the goal and NCC's player just chipped a shot right over her head. And the goalie for NCC was fun to watch. She had some great saves. -

St. Henry played Notre Dame already this year, and the score was 2 to 0. St henry's JV did beat Notre Dame's JV. SK did play Notre Dame, and the score was 3 to 1. It looks like that Notre Dame and Highlands are going to be the 2 top teams once again in Northern Kentucky with NCC and Ryle and SK bringing up the year. As I have stated before, when you become a good team, everyone wants to play for you. -

A definite sleeper, IMO, would have to be Simon Kenton, and also Ryle. Both have good teams, and did not lose much at all due to graduation last year. There are a lot of strong players out there for each school. Some of the ones that I can think of, Katie Collinsworth, Highlands, Beck, defender from Highlands. Fahey, from Notre Dame, Durden from Calvary Christian, Both of the Russell girls from SK, Benzinger and Muth from Scott, Rachel Scott from Ryle There is also a good senior from Villa Madonna, but I am not sure of her name. I know there are many more, but those are the ones that I can think of. -

Soccerexpernot. You are definitely entitled to your opinion. But, I do disagree with you. I can't imagine why any goalie would just throw themselves out there. I would think they would take a great risk in getting themselves hurt. I guess you and I were watching 2 different games on that one. I think any goalie, club or high school would do what they could to try and stop the ball from going into the goal. That is, or course, their main job back there. I do agree with the club, high school thing. I do think, depending on what high school you play for, you do need to have a different mind set than you do with your club team. There are some really good girls high school soccer teams in Northern Kentucky, and I have no doubt that they have a great defense back there to help their goalie. But, not all high schools in Northen Kentucky have that great defense. Some high schools in Northen Kentucky have girls that have never played any select soccer whatsoever. So, like you said, there would have to be a different mind set for the goalie. -

I think the goalie for Scott will be good once she gets some experience directing a defense of the high school variety. She seemed a bit too aggressive but did a nice nice job. Soccerexpertnot, I would have to disagree with you on the aggresiveness of the Scott Goalie, she needs to be agressive back there. As long as she is not tyring to take anybody out back there, I would want the goalie to be agressive. And, I do believe that she has had plenty of experience directing a defense that is much much better than the one that she currently has. Again, that is just my opinion. -

I believe the Fahey scored both goals. I am not sure who the goalie was. I know that one of them was wearing a knee brace. -
Well, Findley playing is definitely good news for Boone. Who will fill Brasseaux's spot?

I thought that St. henry played very well against Newport Catholic. They have a young team, but they did well. I believe that New Cath was ranked in the top 3 for this year's soccer pre-season. Notre Dame, IMO, not as strong as I have seen in the past, but I am sure as the season moves along, they will get better. Highlands looked very impressive against Scott. Scott had no answer for them except their goalie, I would wager to say in the first half alone, the goalie had in the double digts on saves. Highlands just kept shooting bullits at the Scott Goalie. Also, I only saw about half of the SK and Conner game, but SK is going to be a team to be reckoned with this year. They are a tough team, and I believe they lost very few girls last year to graduation. -
So, it is official that Brasseaux has moved. And, also will Findley be playing this year for Boone?

Some scores that I know below from Soccerama this past Saturday 08/11. Campbell County 1 Holy Cross 0 Simon Kenton 3 Conner 0 Notre Dame 2 Brossart 0 New Cath 0 St. Henry 0 Highlands 6 Scott 0 Calvary Christ. 2 Lloyd 0 Villa Madonna 4 Walton Veron 1 ( not 100%sure on that one though. Any other updates, I only watched the first half of the Boone/Dixie Game, when I left, the score was Boone 1 Dixie 0 -
I am not sure if Anna Noll is playing at Holy Cross or not this coming year, but she will be a junior not a senior.

Yes, she does play for a very good club team in Ohio. There are some exciting games coming up that should be fun to watch at the Girls Soccerama August 11th at Dixie Heights High School. I know that Brossart plays Notre Dame and New Cath plays St. Henry, I believe. I think St. Henry is going to be a team to watch this year. They are up and coming and young, but they have some good younger players on their team. Highlands plays Scott High. Definitely a tough draw for Scott. So, if you want to come and watch the Highlands goalie play, Old Guy, there is an opportunity. But, also keep your eye on that goalie for Scott. She is a very good goalie as well, and plays select soccer in the offseason as well for a very good select team. -
In addition to having a new and very good coach on board makes it all the better.
-
I know that Ryle Varsity girls lost their first game 3 to 1 to Lex Cath, and tied the second game against Greenwood. No Sunday play for them. I believe that Simon Kenton Varisty girls won the gold. Who, they played, I do not know.
-
Scott HS Girls Varsity tied their 2nd game against Madisonville-Hopkins 2-2. No Sunday play for them. Scotts Girls JV lost both of their games.
-
Scott High School Varsity Girls lost to Male 2-1 this morning.

Aaron Stamm Best In 9th?
shsbballmom replied to Uncle Charlie's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
"1 regional title from the largest all girl private school outside of Louisville! So I do not know that she has accomplished all that much. Fookes, Hill, and McDonald in that order. Stamm has turned the program around but lets see how he does with this years group minus Wooford." Boy, I can't wait to hear what the Old guy has to say about the above comment. I think Ludlow has a great basketball program and that is due to the coaching staff that they have on board. I would love it if my daughter's team had coaches like Stamm and Clary. They may not be at the top of the list, but that sure does not make them bad coaches. I know my daughter would love to have them as her basketball coaches. -

I would definitely agree that coaching will come into play from 10 on down. I think that Campbell County should be ahead of Brossart this coming year. I know that Brossart lost a lot of seniors this past year, and I think Campbell only lost one senior.
