  1. Loaded for years to come? Do they have a goalie for the future? I hear they have two good freshman who play on the varsity.... Who is the backup goalie for the varsity? All good championship teams need a good goalie....
  2. :dancingpa I feel the 2nd goal was by Alexis Clark...only determining factor was wheter the ball crossed the line before being touched by Clark therefore it's Collinsworth... who has a video of it?..what does it show?..anyone?:ylsuper:
  3. How about Brossart?...anyone see them play?.. i figured them to be in the mix...
  4. I've heard a lot about Simon kenton girls this year... also have heard good things about St. Henry girls also..both seem to have been growing better every year...I saw Ryle play just a bit but they don't seem to be much better than last year unfortunately... but then again, I have not seen SK yet.. saw St. Henry at Soccerrama.. I can tell they have improved ... some teams like Ryle and NCC are good but don't seem to be much improved over last year but they will be a factor in the regionals/districts I'm sure... Of course, the ND and Highlands teams will be tough with Highlands having a big X on their backs from everyone.... must be tough to play with that letter on your back... whats up with ND and their schedule.. playing out of state.. what.. no one in ky good enough competition?... hopefully the SK and St. Henry's will play both of them and give them a good game...seems like N. Ky is much more balanced this year...maybe its true what the folks down south in ky say.. whoever comes out of N. Ky has to be the favorite to win state!.. but its always "how the ball bounces"..
  5. whats up with girls HS soccer?...its the beginning of the soccer season ...now that regular games have started.. who looks good.. who looks overrated?.. who will surprise?.. which players have stood out?..
  6. Oh, by the way.. I was paying her a compliment when I said directing a defense of the high school variety... sometimes HS players don't always have the skills or experience of a club team.. so goalies sometimes have to relearn to work with players with less skill or experience than club teams... one can get "spoiled" playing only with a good club team... when you have to play with players that are not used to playing a "fast" game, its takes a different kind of ability to use the talent you have on a HS team versas a club team.. soo... its tough to make those transitions... just a friendly point thats all!..
  7. Now don't misunderstand me about the goalie... I said she did a good job.. i think there is a difference in "diving" with control and throwing yourself out there.. there were several times I noticed she just "threw" herself uncontrollably into a pack of players, especially on a cross and completely missed the ball .. but overall... i think she did a nice job...vote of confidence or not... a goalie is just one player on the team.. soo.. that's the big question.. do they play as a team..?... it takes all 11 working in sync... but I just enjoy watching the game.
  8. I agree with ballermom that there some good matches at soccerrama. I was impressed with brossart and st. henry. I think they will improve even more as the season goes on. The goalie for St. Henry did a nice job. Of course, NDA and NCC both looked good as they seem to do every year. No surprises there. I did see the Highlands and Scott game. I think the goalie for Scott will be good once she gets some experience directing a defense of the high school variety. She seemed a bit too aggressive but did a nice nice job. I was so focused on the field players for highlands and it hit me that the goalie there did some really good things for a team that allowed very few shots on goal. I think overall, people are going to be hearing names of some really young players throughout the area. I really see depth begining to develop on many teams which is a nice thing for NKy area. There were a lot of good teams from NKy area and it will be interesting what the rest of the state says and begins to rank them. Seems that a few will play tough schedules while some don't seem to play tough schedules. Hopefully the state takes note of the quality of the teams in this area. Whoever makes it out of NKy has a good chance of doing well in state. Well done, Dixie HHS, nice job done!
  9. Oh gosh, I did it again! I'm so focused on spelling "goalie" that I can't get my sentences right. I meant to say, "From what I hear, the HHS goalie does not need any help at the goal." I hear she plays for some competitive clubs, and HHS should be fine in goal. Sorry my friend from Rabbit Hash; but how about any exciting girls games coming up that are worth watching?
  10. I agree shsbballmom... its the private school domination... mind you.. you don't always get a good education in a sheltered enviroment!.. but look at Louisville teams.. assumption, sacred heart, etc.. they can recruit all over and outside louisville.. how does that make a level playing field with teams from public schools that are limited to their district boundries.. many are very small districts...Notre Dame has players from all different school districts.. that is why the dominate.. plus they give the "stars" breaks on tution to attend.. soo.. why not like you say.. go there and play rather than say....Scott high school.
  11. I guess I agree with gunnar-11 about flatback... although doubt the HHS goalie needs much protection...
