  1. Campbell County is a good team. They are a scrappy team, and play hard. I don't really think it was fair to call them a cupcake team. One thing to remember, Campbell County is a public school. Most students that attend the school, attend because they live in that area, not because of a particular sport.
  2. I really don't think there was need to say that about Campbell County. They are a tough little team. Yes, I realize that Notre Dame And Boone County are the top 2 teams in Northern Kentucky. But, I think by saying that, you are degrading the Lady Camels' team. And I can guarantee that those girls work just as hard on the floor as Notre Dame girls do.
  3. If she does go to one of the other Kenton County High Schools, I really would not blame her at all. She is going to be a very good basketball player, and she is a very nice girl in addition to that. However, I do hope that she decides to play for Scott next year. And, I know my daughter who plays for Scott would, love to have her back next year as a teammate.
  4. Thanks to everyone for verifying what I thought was the correct answer. Just one more question that I have. If a girl's family were to move from one Kenton County district to another, would she be required to set out a year as well, since she would still be within Kenton County?
  5. Can someone please verify for me? If an 8th grader plays and starts varisty her 8th grade year, can she go the following year to a different public school other than the High school that she is playing for, and play basketball. Her family would not be moving, she would just chose to play at another public high school. Or, does she set have to set out a year?
  6. Scott girls had an 11 point lead, going into the 4th quarter. However, due to some poor decisions that were not made on the basketball court, Scott girls lost. A very disappointing loss to say the least.
  7. Scott's season for the most part has had a lot of let downs. There have been a few bright spots, including the continued improved play by the 8th grader, Lauren Tibbs, and Shelbi Benzinger, the guard, has some good games as well.
  8. Good game by Lady Camels. Scott was leading after the first quarter 13 t0 4, but the Lady Camels came back. They are a very young group of girls, and very scrappy to say the least, and also very well coached IMO. Once again, Scott continues to struggle. They played so well on Saturday against a good Harrison County team, but last night, they looked like a totally different team. The 8th grader, Lauren Tibbs, continues to improve every game.
  9. Looking forward to hearing the score between Bracken County and Pendleton County. My daughter plays for Scott High School, and they will be playing Pendleton County this Saturday. I wish both teams the best.
  10. Coach Linda Moore at Scott High School has good knowledge of the game, and a great deal of respect for the girls, and the girls respect her as well. She takes the time when they come off the floor to explain what they did wrong. She used to coach up at Scott years ago, when the current coach used to play for Scott.
  11. I think for the most part the girls get along, and alot of the girls are friends off the court. The senior on the team provides great leadership, and IMO really tries hard on the court as well. Thanks for kind words. And, at this point, I definitely do not see it getting much worse.
  12. I agree in that there are some girls on the team lacking fundamentals. I have said that to my daughter, and have asked her in practice, if they work on fundamentals -she says no. You have to know how to make a lay up. There really is not much of an excuse in missing one, but I see it happening all of the time. I also agree that there maybe some girls that do not come back next year, but I believe it will be because of the issues off the court. IMO, if there is a girl out on the floor who consistently plays, but does not hustle the majority of the time, then how can it be fair to the girls and or girls who sit on the bench and constantly see this girl getting away with it for all of the wrong reasons. My daughter has tried to talk to the coach, but to no avail. IMO, it is a sad situation. I do not see a problem with the guards shooting threes if it is a good shot taken, but you can't depend on the threes. It has to be a team effort on and off the court, and that is not happening. I think it has and will continue to be a long season on and off the court for the Scott Lady Eagles.
  13. You are exactly right. Since my daughter plays for Scott, I am very familiar with the team and the players. There are definitely some issues going on behind the scenes. My daughter is to the point where she is afraid to shoot the ball any more, which is not a good thing. I agree that the JV looked much better than the Varsity. And, yes Lauren Tibbs, the 8th grader will definitely be a good player in the years to come. She had helped them this year all ready. I just hope that for Scott's girls basketball team, that she decides to play at Scott next year. As I am sure you know, 3 point shooter, her dad is the principal at another Kenton County School.
  14. I was at the Scott/Boone Game last night. My daughter plays for Scott, and it was very ugly. As has been previously stated, Boone County is a very good team, and more importantly very well coached. Scott continues to struggle this year, and last night definitely did not help the situation.
  15. No doubt that Brossart is a good team. And, maybe the score would have been worse, had Harris been there. However, Scott, IMO, played well Saturday night, even though, Brossart won the game. And, yes Brossart will definitely win their district, no doubt about that.
  16. I was at the game on Saturday night for Brossart and Scott. Yes, Brossart did beat Scott. However, Scott played very well against them. Steffen had a great night for Brossart. However, Butsch, got into foul trouble, and scored 8 points for the evening. IMO, it was not a cruising.
  17. I was at the game Friday night. Mason County has a great team, not just one girl in particular, but a great team. Scott struggled from the beginning. An 8th grader from Scott had her best game ever scoring a team high 16 points. Shelbi Beninger a 10th grader had a total of 12 points which consisted of 4 3 pointers. It was very enjoyable to watch Mason County play. It is definitely a team effort.
  18. You are probably right. However, K. Kitchen is doing really good this year so far. Has she always played forward for Campbell County? And what happened to Page Bowling, does she no longer play basketball?
  19. I agree 100 percent, it would be a shame if she is no longer on the team. I hope that it is something minor that is keeping her away. I checked the stats as well, and her name is not out there for Newport. They played Villa last night, and Bivens was the high scorer for Newport.
  20. Sorry, I have to ask, but what does this have to do w/Boone Co? It was entered in error under the wrong forum.
  21. Did anyone get the opportunity to watch Scott against Calvary Christian last night? It was somewhat ugly, but Scott came away with the victory by 4 points.
  22. I am glad that you agree as well. I know what the coach was trying to do, but at this point and time, I don't think it was a good idea. I know my daughter was frustrated, as I am sure that yours was as well. There is absolutely nothing wrong with seeing how your younger players can do, but you also can't forget about your experienced players, they are the heart and soul of the team. I am a little nervous this year as to how things are going to go for the Girls Varsity at Scott. It is good to build for the future, but don't forget about today as well.
  23. I did see Scott High play Nicholas County. IMO, it was pretty evenly matched. However, it is unfortunate, for some of the Scott girls that some of the more experienced girls on the team received quite a bit less playing time. I am all for promoting and giving the younger girls an opportunity to show what they can do. I think it is going to be an interesting and possibly long season for some of the sophmores and juniors on the varsity team.
  24. I agree that one person cannot carry a whole team. But, I do wish her the best of luck this year at Newport.
  25. Hi Ntp Wildcat. I did not get to go, However, my husband did, and my daughter played against Tamara. She said Tamara was impressive, and everytime she got the ball, she drove to the basketball. However, she did say that Tamara was the biggest part of the team.
