  1. I think you are correct as it stands right now, if Russell County were able to get a win against LaRue that may be enough to change things up, depending on how other teams fair week 10.
  2. Congrats to Logan, I got to see them on film for the first time last week. The qb has a cannon for an arm.
  3. @DevilMayCare Yes. Sawyers is my homer pick, just because he does everything for us. He even served cake last week at the team meal.
  4. if I had an actual vote Hudson would be in my top three but I know he won’t finish there. It’s also the only reason I didn’t include Jacob Lacey in my top 5.
  5. A spectator sees a handoff and it’s either up the middle or outside. A qb runs the ball and it’s just a direct snap and find a hole. There are a variety of different blocking schemes for run plays that may look similar because people tend to just watch the ball and not the line, however they are not similar at all. It’s all about angles in the run game and if you miss an assignment it looks like a terrible play call. We will watch film and get better but I promise we didn’t come into the game and only run 4 plays. Hats off to Pulaski they limited our possessions in the second half and we didn’t capitalize when we did have the ball.
  6. 1. Casey McGinness 2. Wandale Robinson 3. Demarco Fishback 4. Drew Sawyers 5. Bryan Hudson
  7. Drew Sawyers for Southwestern - 355 yards passing 2 TD's, 377 rushing 3 TD's, 2 95+ yard kick returns for TD's, 60+ yard punt return for a TD. Defensively he plays safety and has 6 solo tackles, a fumble recovery, and an Interception. Stats may not be high on defense but he gets everyone where they are supposed to line up and calls the other teams plays out. He is the personal protector on punt, the holder on field goals and plays on the kickoff team. Two other guys I've seen play this year that are studs on both sides of the ball are Raymond Jackson and Langston Jackson for Henry Clay. A few othergood impacts on both sides of the ball that I've seen are Blake Muntz and Ethan Hahn for Madison Central.
  8. There was a slight mis-calculation from one of his first years at meade county. Tonight was win number 298.
  9. Pc has put this one away 40-21 now another td pass by hendrix to sloan.
  10. Pc defense stepped up strong and kept hc out of the endzone on 1st and goal
  11. An assistant coach from hc was just ejected. Evidently it is unacceptable to punt the yellow flag across the field.
  12. 28-21 pc quick pc touchdown out of half the hc fumbles on their own 5.
  13. I know they aren't your typical Mr. Football candidates but I'd like to get some buzz going for these guys in hopes they aren't forgotten about at the end of the year. 3 guys for Press and coaches to keep an eye on for all-state ballots, all are outstanding young men, with one completing Governors Scholar this summer and the other two gentlemen will be great candidates for the program. Brandon Pruitt QB 51-78 for 1070 yards 9TD passing 268 yards/game 2 Touchdowns rushing. As of last week ranks 4th in the state in passing yards. Jp Vaught WR 17 catches for 518 yards 5 receiving touchdowns, 1 return for a touchdown, 126 yards/game. As of last week was ranked 1st in the state on KHSAA and 15th in the nation per MaxPreps. Patric Edwards RB/OLB 528 yards rushing on 68 attempts, 12 catches for 185 yards, 7 Touchdowns. Plays almost every snap, and approaching the 3,000 yard mark for a career as a JR.
  14. It is a touchy subject. Myself, I haven't felt my team was wronged by someone successfully running up the score. One time in a JV game, my first year of coaching, we had a team call timeout with a 7 point lead and 3 seconds to go in the game (they had the lead). They tried to throw a double reverse pass to get an extra score but was unsuccessful. The two varsity teams played later in the week and our varsity took care of business. Earlier this year, we opened the season with a running clock late in the third quarter, on the ensuing kickoff the opposing team returned it for a touchdown, completed the 2-pt conversion, successful onside kick, and a quick touchdown with our some of our back-ups sprinkled in and another 2 point. We finally got the ball back with 8 minutes to go in the 4th. We are a no huddle team, but we huddle in our 5 minute offense. 2nd and 3rd string running backs, all back up receivers, and two back-up lineman. We were able to run the clock inside 3 minutes with 9 guys in the box. Then our backup RB broke a tackle, reversed field and broke 4 more tackles for a 28-yard touchdown. After the game the other coach had some choice words, he told me that we knew we were running up the score. This subject usually depends on which side of score you are on. I just don't like it when the losing team lines up with 9 guys in the box and tries to tee off on young kids because they know they are going to run the ball. I think after the running clock happens both coaches should meet at mid-field and discuss their plan of action from there on out.
  15. My hometown team (Meade County) is nicknamed Death Valley because there is a cemetery that over looks one of the endzones. It also has an elementary school along one side up on a hill and the high school over looks the other endzone all three of which we associated with death. People used to park in the cemetery and flash their lights every time we scored.
  16. chief maybe you can talk to somebody over here about what you guys did to have such a nice surface. The new place looks great.
