  1. I guess, based on the voting, the teams by size were: 1st Team G - Mack (2nd), Stepp (4th) F - Miller (1st), Hopson (3rd) C - Moses (13th) 2nd Team G - Slone (5th), Henderson (8th) F - Hood (6th), Morris of Madison Central (7th) C - No real other center named in top 20, unless you count (based on height) Phares or Euton
  2. I'm sure you can go on a thread and prove me wrong here, but if I were a betting man, I'd say people didn't say "they could've won without him," more so that he didn't play good and yet they still won. I can't imagine any team being told they're going to lose their second/third best player an hour before tipoff still being able to play to the best of their ability. I don't think anyone changed their tune about this kid, he's still great. Everyone has bad shooting nights. It just stinks this happened on a bigger stage when he's still trying to decide where to play. But a good coach won't look at one night as a deciding factor. It's obvious Trevor can play.
  3. I didn't see this on here yet, so I thought I'd post it. It's based on coaches' vote, and though it doesn't give the total amount of votes (points?) received, it does list them in order and notes first-place votes. 5. Back this statement up. I know for a fact that the "whoever" should be pluralized and they did see every team. Let's hear your beef rather than this unqualified comment.
  6. It's possible that's a Fields typo. On Bolus' website (though not updated through the above list), it's Faulkner.
  7. We can make this official as of today's 11 am press conference: http://courtsidewithdannyweddle.blogspot.com/
  8. We can as of today's 11 am press conference: http://courtsidewithdannyweddle.blogspot.com/
  9. 64-31 in three years (67%) Three region finals, one championship Three district finals, two championships
  10. I also listed the girls over on the other forum, if you're interested.
  11. Brought over from the boys' forum, I wanted to list the girls' choices by the Ledger as well, for those who aren't in the Ledger circulation area. Again, like the boys, this includes some Ohio players: Girls Player of the Year - De'Sarae Chambers, Mason County Coach of the Year - Bernie Cropper, Georgetown (Ohio) First Team Lacey Cline, Mason County Ariana Bowles, Eastern Brown Sarah Sexton, Peebles Beth Bernard, Fleming County Chelsea Drake, Georgetown Erin Carmack, Deming Trayla Liles, Lewis County Emily Hoop, Peebles Danyale Allex, Fleming County Thomnessa Fields, West Union Second Team Courtney Mason, Georgetown Ashlee Liston, West Union Samantha Frost, West Union Kasey Litzinger, Mason County Brittani Price, Fleming County Jessi Marth, Lewis County Katie Little, Manchester Brigett Spradling, Ripley Keller Menke, Mason County Kaylyn Emmons, Fleming County Honorable Mention (KENTUCKIANS ONLY) Ashley Harding, Augusta Dana Figgins, Bracken County Tara Kauinui, Bracken County Kaycee Denton, Lewis County Emily Lykins, Lewis County Cora Chamberlain, St. Patrick Molly Parker, St. Patrick Leslie Pfeffer, St. Patrick
  12. Just so you know, this is a combination of the Ledger's coverage area, so players from Ohio probably aren't as recognizable to many people on this forum: Boys Player of the Year - Darius Miller, Mason County Coach of the Year - Chris O'Hearn, Mason County First Team Chris Owens, St. Patrick Blake Justice, Peebles Russ Middleton, Mason County Trevor Setty, Mason County Shooty Staggs, Augusta Chris Mofford, Augusta Kyle King, Deming Jess Chadwell, Georgetown Jared Quinlan, Manchester Nick Anderson, St. Patrick Second Team John Mineer, Ripley Luke King, Deming Tyler Arnold, Peebles Andrew Seaman, Peebles Stephen Mason, St. Patrick Ash Price, West Union Ethan King, Mason County Craig Staggs, West Union Corey Henschen, Ripley Tyler Knabb, Eastern Brown Honorable Mention (KENTUCKIANS ONLY) Devin Workman, Bracken County Garth Grause, Deming Nathan Mitchell, Deming Preston Dugan, Fleming County Josh Gray, Fleming County Tyler Newsom, Fleming County Terrence Smith, Lewis County Frankie Witten, Lewis County Keith Downing, Mason County Jackson Tolle, Mason County Andy Clarke, St. Patrick
  13. No one had mentioned it yet, so I wanted to give kudos to Matt Montavon at the Ledger for last week's All-Area. The girls ran on Friday and the boys (in all color!) on Saturday. He did a fantastic job all on his own to get that completed close to the the season ending, and I thought it looked great. Anyone else see the Ledger's choices? IMO, they were spot on!
  14. Not to downplay Krista's slump, but Tiara batted leadoff yesterday and got on base all 4 times she came to the plate. Good season debut!
  15. Agreed. She's finally getting her swing down, and has started off the season very well. If her and Lacey keep it up, they'll make a lethal 3-4 combo!
  16. You can also check out Chuck Hamilton's article at: http://www.maysville-online.com/articles/2008/03/31/sports/136ladybears.txt
  17. I don't have Bracken's, but you can check out the Lady Royals at (cheap plug): http://www.hometeamsonline.com/teams/default.asp?u=MCLADYROYALS&t=c&s=softball&p=boxscore&gameID=106145
  18. Had to bump this thread, this guy here should be picking the longshots at the track, or playing the lottery!!!
  19. I did it in post #5: 1. Russ Middleton 2. Robbie Stenzel 3. Petey Albrecht 4. Kyle King 5. Chris Mofford Next 5 -- Nikola Gligorevic, Patrick Nerl, Brandon Rash, Kyle Campbell, Keith Downing/Neal Pawsat
  20. Boo-yeah, some Chris Mofford love! This guy gets little or no credit across the region, and I would've thought different, especially considering his effort against Scott in the region tournament. I agree with panther15z30, he will be a FORCE next season. He could move into the top three!
  21. Treg did dress football last year, high number in the 80's, so I'd assume he's a receiver. I want to say he got in late in a couple of games.
  22. I agree. And not to open up another can of worms, but if Mason had needed them to play more this year, they would have, they're that good. They just didn't have to. They definitely played a great level of competition in their freshman and JV seasons (and yes, before anyone starts in, I realize this isn't the same as playing against varsity competition).
  23. We do, myself and the head coach. It's fool-proof. I take the scorebook and enter it in, and all the stats are totalled up for us. We supply all the other info, pictures, etc. For history's sake, we started this back at Holmes when my wife was an assistant there, and switched over to Mason when she took the job here. It's a terrific web server, for sure.
  24. I'm sure, besides Montgomery County's 2008 coaching staff, there's very few groups statewide that average 6-5 across the front line!!!
